This last week of 2017, I decided to do an end of the year doodle audit. I wanted to look back at each month and analyze what posts were popular, what I could learn from them and which ones still made me laugh. It was an educational experience, I trust and pray the decisions I’ve made for minor changes in 2018 will be successful. #moreonthatlater

2017 with the Boys has been a good year. Our Goldendoodle “niche-blog” neighborhood has grown, which I owe many thanks to you for sharing our stories. It’s a treat to receive your questions and I love your support and encouragement. We take pleasure in knowing we’ve made you smile.

While going through my end of the year audit, I selected one from each month that holds a special place in my ❤️

JANUARY –

BEEF PUMPKIN QUINOA BURGERS – I loved working with the Honest Kitchen. For me – recording those recipe videos were beneficial in so many ways. I learned techniques and work arounds substituting different ingredients. Not a baker (by no means) so everything I made was a challenge. These burgers were easy to prepare and are still a huge hit with both Harley and Jaxson… 

FEBRUARY –

IRREGULAR COAT QUESTION – this was the launch of our “we’ve got mail” posts (which I hope to dust off and bring back in 2018) inspired by the emails you send. There are various different coats on a Goldendoodle to include one that’s called “irregular.” Many people mistake the dog because of the coat. I learned plenty in the process…

MARCH –

OFF LEASH DOG ATTACK – Frightening experience! I never really gave much thought about what I would do until I was faced with an actual encounter. Make sure you read the conclusion too!… 

APRIL –

NEW NEIGHBORS – Final move to our downtown Charleston home took place in April. I love my neighborhood so much – it just felt right sharing it with you!…

MAY – 

PHOTO SHOOT – #SAVETHEPUPPIES – Anytime we can help heighten awareness or support a cause to benefit pups in need, we’re there. We had fun participating in the My Name is Milk Calendar Photo Contest…

JUNE – 

PLEASE DON’T PET MY HEAD – Maybe it’s the doodle interest or Jaxson’s just got that look – but everyone always wants to pat the top of his head. He’s not a fan. Turns out most dogs aren’t…

JULY – 

LETS TALK TONGUES – I had no idea the importance of the tongue. It’s really “da boss” of the mouth!…

AUGUST –

DOGS MOUNTING DOGS – had to write this blog post because it’s just so personal. Harley is a humper Why dear Lord?…

SEPTEMBER –

WALKS WITH MY DOGS – it was so comforting to know I am not the only pet parent who prefers to walk their dogs alone…

OCTOBER –

MOBILE GROOMING – taking the Boys all the way back to where we used to live for grooming was getting old. I needed to find another groomer that was closer. Could mobile grooming be the answer?…

NOVEMBER –

TAIL WAGGING HOLIDAY HAPPINESS – expanding pet therapy from the hospital to the airport was one of the coolest moments of the year. Harley and 21 other therapy dogs changed frowns into smiles the day before Thanksgiving…

DECEMBER –

THIS ONE – #pawsdown! Sharing special stories with special people on the last day of the year (which also happens to be Jaxson’s birthday) – just might be my new all time favorite…
