NAVAL BASE MEMORIAL
We traveled to the Charleston Naval Base Memorial this weekend. An active Naval Base since 1901 it seemed fitting to dedicate it to the thousands of men and women, military and civilian, who served at the Charleston Naval Base and in the Charleston based ships, submarines and other military units when it closed in 1996. And it is pet friendly!
CHARLESTON SC LOVES DOGS
When Charleston, South Carolina won the 2016 Best City for Pet Travelers tournament, we couldn’t wait to high-tail it up there and see what all the woofing was about. We’d heard about the stunning beaches, tranquil parks, mouth-watering eateries, and unique attractions that roll out the “pets welcome” mat, and Ty and Buster were positively drooling to get their paws in the top pet friendly destination of 2016! THE SUPER PET FRIENDLY WENTWORTH MANSION (PART 1)
When I asked my husband if he would like to spend the night with the Boys and I at the pet friendly Wentworth Mansion® his expression was priceless.
And for a few moments he was also silent #hilarious. As I continue to write about these “Groovy Hidden Treasures” in a city I’ve learned to love and adore, I thought the time was right to share some of Charleston’s pet friendly hotels. The month of March has a way of teasing us about vacation time. Those scattered days of warmer weather can jump start our dreams of planning summer get-aways. And if you’re like me, and love to bring your pets along, then I suggest you add Charleston to your list!

The Boys were joining us for dinner behind the hotel in the converted carriage house. The restaurant harkens back to a simpler time – 1886, the year the pet friendly Wentworth Mansion® and its two story red brick carriage house were built – to invoke the culinary traditions of that era...
WINE & DESIGN
An experience more so than a traditional “spot” is pawbably the better way to describe my evening with Wine & Design. #groovyhiddentreasure
It was an unusual and refreshing way to spend a few hours unleashing #punintended my creative side… All is Well Pet – the holistic pet store I’ve fallen in love with invited me to a “Paint Your Pet” class. Sounded like fun! Why not? #bucketlist Having never done anything like this before I was both excited and apprehensive. Excited – because I’ve heard so much about these classes in the many places I’ve lived. I never dreamed of going to one but they had me when they said “paint your pet!” Apprehensive – because girlfriend can’t paint! #challenged
All I had to do was – SIGN UP, SHOW UP, SIP UP AND PAINT!
ALL IS WELL PET - ANOTHER DOODLE SPOT
All Is Well Pet – a new local hang out for us – is our featured groovy hidden treasure this month. Family owned and super doodle conscience about the quality of treats and food they sell is only part of what makes them so special. When it comes to caring for your pets health and well being they offer a more natural alternative – a holistic approach…
