Our house guests were here for the very first time. Naturally we wanted to show them our beautiful city. Since this trip centered around their son, Harley and Jaxson, we never gave it a second thought to leave the Doodle Bros at home. #nodoodleway

THE ANGEL OAK TREE –
The fairy-talesque Angel Oak tree in Charleston, SC is thought to be one of the oldest living organisms east of the Mississippi River. It stands 65 feet (20m or 6 stories) tall, is 28 ft (8.5 m) in circumference, and an area of 17,000 square feet is shaded by it’s tentacular crown. The largest branch reaches 187 feet long. PATRIOTS POINT (HOME OF THE USS YORKTOWN)

While the park is “pet friendly” the USS Yorktown tours are strictly for two legged tourists.
But please do not cry for us Argentina. Everyone had a grand time.
Aboard the aircraft carrier there was much history to learn. Look at Doodle Dad (caught on camera) pretending to star in one of those old world war movies…
Back on land – the Boys and I opened up a blanket, facing the edge of Charleston Harbor, which offers spectacular views of the city. We had treats, water, potato chips and lemonade. We were all set…
We view our pets as family. It’s nice to live in a city that feels the same way.
I acknowledge pets cannot go EVERYWHERE with you, but I appreciate how Charleston makes alternative accommodations when necessary. #bestcityforpets

Looks to me like your boys and your 4-legged guests had a great time!
When your guests return in the summer, you should take them to see the Hunley. It was a Confederate sub but it was the very first submersible to successfully sink an enemy ship in all maritime history. My hubby and I went to see it the first time about 12 years ago. It is truly amazing how the scientists have been able to remove so much of the concretion that built up on it while it laid at the bottom of Charleston Harbor for nearly 150 years. I think you’d enjoy it. Only thing is I don’t think you can bring the #doodlebros. But you can call and ask.

The father and oldest son are true history buffs – so that sounds like a really great idea. Thanks – and I’m okay if the Doodle Bros can’t tag along – it’s so rare – it just seems odd to me 🙂

Rainbow Row is very pretty! I wish they would allow tours (but then I understand if they don’t – these are peoples homes) I would love to get inside some of them. Your new house is also gorgeous, are you enjoying yourself?
