HOW WAS YOUR WEEKEND?

How was your weekend? Mine was “all over the place.”

Leo’s upset because I won’t stay outside furever in the blistering cold and play with him.

Harley’s “pissed” because he thinks I abandoned him (which I didn’t) on Saturday.

I did nothing wrong, but “what the doodle”, let me give you my weekend wrap-up.

I accepted an invitation a while back, to attend a Holiday Craft Show Saturday. It was located mllions of miles away, so I left my house at 6:00am, “scooped” DD and arrived at the Community Center a little after 7:30am. Our display table set, we were ready to “rock-n-roll” by 9:00am…

My first Craft Show with the Doodle Greeting Cards

I know I’m no Hallmark, but I thought my stuff looked pretty doodle good. By 9:00am the wave of patrons coming through the door was steady. I thought fur sure people would “congregate” around my display and those greeting cards would fly off the table. That’s not exactly what happened…. Oh the people came over all right, and they were mesmerized at the photos of The Boys…

Harley & Leo always seem to make people smile, even on a card!

…but not enough to purchase anything.

Many people that we talked to either had or wanted their very own Goldendoodle. They admired the breed, loved the combination of the Retriever and Standard Poodle, adored their temperament, and also thought Harley & Leo were “beautiful dogs.” But no one wanted to buy any greeting cards. Not this time!

I did however, meet and make many new furrends. More than once, doodle parents came up to our table excited to meet me. They said they knew about Harley & Leo through the website and recognized them from my display. Now THAT was really cool, and it made for the pawfect way to end my day.

It was close to 5:00pm when I pulled into my driveway, and Harley made no attempt to hide his anger. He was “too through” with me!…

Do you have any idea how long you’ve been gone Doodle Mom?

Here I was returning home feeling exhausted and a tiny bit defeated, needing a dose of doodle love myself, and all I got was the cold paw the rest of the evening.

Harley’s “where were you?” attitude yesterday continued Sunday morning.  I didn’t make it to church. The bottom of my feet had stopped burning from Saturday, yet there was still a little tingling sensation going on with them, and my back was killing me from lifting all that stuff.

Weather threats from our television forecasters turned out to be “true stories”, and by 9:00am the snow, sleet, and hail had begun leaving only one thing left to do with a wintery mix invading our Sunday afternoon.  Get out those Christmas decorations!

Harley stayed close by, but there was little interaction between the two of us. At one point he allowed me to cover him with his blanket, but he refused to engage in any eye to eye conversation. I ignored him too, and started working on my trees…

Stubborn kind of fella

Much later in the afternoon, I dumped a huge bag of teddy bears on the couch next to him to see if I’d get a reaction. He sat still and straight, and refused to look at me – HA!

How could something so cute be so mean?

This is probably why you see only Leo posing next to the family room trees…

Not sure when it will stop snowing, but to make sure my other doodle furrend doesn’t stop communicating with me, I bundled up and played with Leo and Wilson outside for a bit…

snow

Yes, he’s wearing his snow suit. They are great!

If you’ve got snow, or freezing rain in your region, please be careful out there…

Thanks for reading

Sorry that you didn’t sell any greeting cards, but your display looks gorgeous 🙂

I got the cold shoulder here a bit this weekend too because I was out doing a lot of shopping.

I’m frustrated with the ice we have too, and its making it very difficult for us to go for our walks.

Thanks Jen, I’m okay especially since Harley has decided to make up with me – HA!
Woke up this morning to no power due to the ice storm we had last night. Just got it back on, but the weather reports are calling for more so I decided to jump on the computer before it goes out again.
But “Tis The Season” right? Take care and stay warm…

you did a great job! Never fear, sometimes the “not right nows” turn into “laters”….I am one of those who often don’t purchase on the spot but I pick up cards and order when I have the money
