FAITH | BLOG HOP

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

June 26th I was forced to accept life without Leo. July 2nd I was forced to accept life without my Mac Book Pro. That’s right, my hard drive was officially “kaput.”

This news was so catastrophic, poor Harley just fell out when I told him…

eee

And then when he heard there was a good chance we lost everything on that laptop – he screamed out in full distress…

rrr

He shares my pain!

I’ve been trying to recreate what I can. Retrieve from family (to the best of my ability) those photos, articles, and documents they received through the years. “How’s that going?” you might want to ask. S-L-O-W-L-Y is about as accurate as I can be.

I didn’t have anything backed up #shameonme – but I have my faith. I believe somehow, someway, there is value in this valley.

As I continue my expedition for anything “Groovy Goldendoodle”, I recently stumbled onto a podcast interview I gave last year (June 2013) to Robbin and Joseph Everett…

Since this was recorded more than a year ago, I listened again. Oh boy – was I nervous.  I stammered and stuttered and probably said “um” way too many times.

When you get the chance, check it out (My interview starts at the 40:53 minute marker) – the story I told is still one of my favorites. Or you could just visit the blog post AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.

Can’t wait to see Robbin and Joseph Everett next month at Hollywoof. I must hug them and say “thank you.” Listening to that podcast reminded me even back then as I stammered and stuttered through this blogging world – “I had faith.”

And now – without my photos, articles, documents and yes even without Leo, I’ve still got my faith.

So remember, whatever you’re going through, as you stammer and stutter through life, just hold on and keep the faith…

Thanks for reading…

Faith truly is what gets us through daily. It can strengthen our will and desire to go on. Through our interfaith group at Momma’s work we learned a new daily saying – so whenever we have doubt or stress and feel overwhelmed – we say it once, we say it twice, we say it often:

    Let go, let God!
    Let go. Let God.

    Let go… let God…

You’ve got that right Piranha. And it’s so important to know that you’ve got to live those words, not just say them. Joy will come in the morning….

Without faith there isn’t much to hold onto and we all need to hold on tight in this world. I hope that you can recover the majority of your lost computer things. ♥

Thanks M.K. I’m pretty sure I will get at least 90% of the photos back, it’s just a long expensive process. Thank goodness I have other places to replace a large majority of them (blog post for one), just a tedious process, but I’m learning patience, and practicing not to as “why me?” My faith is strong, and I’m surrounded by like minded people (present company included) therefore I will get through this. Take care my friend..

Act as if ye have faith and faith shall be given to you. I am right there with you my friend! Sometimes it is hard to have faith, but it’s worth the hard work. Now, I am off to back up my mac 🙂

Deirdre, thank you. I have a much better understanding now when people talk about faith the size of a mustard seed. I’m not giving up – not in my nature. Now RUN – GO back up that mac 🙂

Oh heavens, you have had a string of the worst times! Mom learned a few years ago when her computer crashed and she thought she lost everything to back up her stuff. We have all our photos backed up on an external hard drive, but we also decided to spend the money (which isn’t much) and go with an of site back up that constantly backs up everything so we don’t even have to think about it. It gives Mom peace of mind as next to us doggies, the computer is her life.

You’ve got that right Emma – this hasn’t been my best season… I keep thinking about Maya Angelou: “And still I rise” Thanks so much to you, your mom and your sisters for such support. Harley & I appreciate your friendship.

Oh Emmy, I will be there waiting. I feel like a poster child for the old saying: “when it rains it pours!” But then I think: “this too shall pass” Can’t believe we finally got to meet next month!

Oh no! I hope you’re able to recover some important memories. Good reminder for me to back up my computer. Sending positive vibes your way!

    • Cathy Bennett
      August 7, 2014

I’ll be able to retrieve the photos – it’s just going to cost a ridiculous amount of $$. I just don’t want others to go through this also. So please back your stuff up! Thanks for stopping by.

  • Rama's Mama
    August 6, 2014

Oh my gosh, I hope you are able to find more of your memories. I cannot even imagine. I am bad about backing things up. I try. :-/

    • Cathy Bennett
      August 7, 2014

Okay Rama’s Mama – let my misfortune be a reminder to you to back your data up! It will cost an arm and a leg to retrieve my photos. Don’t be like me, back it up my friend 🙂 Thanks for stopping by…

You sure don’t deserve that stretch of misfortune. I hope things are turning around. Have fun at Hollywoof!

      August 7, 2014

Well Slim they say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger – and if that’s true then I could beat Laila Ali at this point BOL! I have the laptop, and at some point I will pay mega bucks to have the data retrieved. Looking forward to Hollywoof too!

Hey Paws it on, who do you think he’s imitating? I’m slowly harassing people to send me those priceless photos I once sent them. It’s a process. Thanks for stopping by.

    August 7, 2014

Oh no! We had this happen to us a couple of months ago-it is awful =S Great message about hanging in there even when the going gets tough (especially then!), because eventually things will start looking up again and get better!

    • Cathy Bennett
      August 8, 2014

I’m hanging Tiffany – and I’m watching what a little faith will/can do – when you have it… Friends and family have been sending me photos of Leo everyday. It’s getting better all the time 🙂

  • Sand Spring Chesapeakes
    August 8, 2014

So so sorry for you loss of Leo. Your computer can be replaced but that guy can’t. I hope you get all your stuff back.

    • Cathy Bennett
      August 8, 2014

I’ve still got the old Mac, I will eventually pay this outrageous amount of $$ to retrieve the data and photos. I don’t believe God wants me to go backwards right now, so I’m moving forward with this new path. I’ve already received over 300 pictures of Leo alone from friends and family members. In fact their still coming. I’m learning everyday about Grace, Faith and Strength.
