Catchy title – don’t you think? PupBox – according to Jax. Doodle Mom gets the credit for that – but I’ve got the job…
I am now gainfully employed #sortof and let me tell you it’s a great gig!
Here’s my easy 1-2-3 job description:
- Eat treats
- Play with toys
- Tell you about it
Can you believe it?
Here’s how it works –
A PupBox comes to the house once a month…
Doodle Mom waits until Friday (while Harley’s at camp), and she let’s me try and open it…
But before I share this months contents – allow me to impress my boss and tell you a little about PupBox, why it’s special, and who’s behind it.
WHAT IS PUPBOX?
PupBox is a monthly development box for new puppy parents.
WHY IS IT SPECIAL?
Because it’s designed to help puppy owners raise their fur babies by providing toys, treats, accessories and training/development information each month. Each box is customized based on your puppy’s age (in months) and their stage of development. PupBox walks new puppy parents through the many joys and challenges during our puppyhood.
THE INSPIRATION
Meet Ben and Maggie…
Ben and his wife started PupBox because they were new puppy parents themselves, and they found it very difficult to find appropriate toys for their puppy. They also found all of the conflicting training and development information they received to be very confusing and hard to sort through. They created the company to try and make life easier for new puppy parents like them.
My first box was jammed packed with all sorts of goodies…
Let me take you on my “goodie tour”
I’ll start with the food first:
WELLNESS “Just for Puppy” mini soft treats are pawfectly sized and made from real food bits like lamb, salmon, carrots, blueberries and flaxseed…
DOGSWELL sweet potato chews …
…got my seal of approval quick. Come on, marinated in chicken broth? #nobrainer…
The BARKING BUS ANIMAL COOKIES were gone before the weekend was over.
Darryl (that’s what I named him) my HUGGLE HOUND Duck is my new BFF #sorryHarley
He’s so soft, strong and makes the cutest noise.
Talk about a puppy’s wish come true…
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE?
Paws down, it’s this super cool PUPCICLE by SmartPetLove. It’s a frozen teething aid. Whoever came up with this little gem is a genius. #Einsteinlike
Imagine – she fills it with water, tosses it in the freezer and then she gives it to me. It was 87 degrees on Saturday, and I didn’t care one bit. I had an arctic blast with this thing, that is until the strange noise from the backyard interrupted me.
Take a look…
PupBox even adds a little “sumpin-sumpin” for my Doodle Mom too!
That’s right, she gets training and development tips from celebrity puppy trainer Andrea Arden…
Each month my box will include a development guide to help Doodle Mom understand the changes going on with me.
This month it explained, described and justified all my four month old antics. #theyunderstandme
It even offered a “trick of the month” (teaching me how to lie down on command) #yeahright
They tell me each month I can expect to receive 5-7 items to enjoy. I love my life!
DO YOU WANT A PUPBOX?
Getting started is easy! AND they tell me I’m running a “special” (whatever that means)…
Click this big PURPLE box and fill out the puppy profiler. They’ll personalize each box based on your needs, and they will cover the shipping charges.
Puppies receive 5-7 premium products, and adult dogs can participate too! They will receive 4-7 products (not age specific) hand selected by the PupBox team.
See you next month! Jax
PS: Doodle love to my pawsome employment recruiter Kimberly of Keep the Tail Wagging. #checksinthemail 🙂

What a cool idea! And what a smart company for hiring the CUTEST spokesdog imaginable! I can’t believe how big he is getting!
June 1, 2015
Thanks Amanda – It is a great idea. Jax is definitely growing, he’s a clown too! so much fun to have around.
June 1, 2015
Sure looks like that was a GREAT box!
June 1, 2015
Nicole, it was fun to watch Jax explore the contents. I think it’s a great idea to specialize in just puppy needs.
June 1, 2015
Congrats on getting a job, Jax! Looks like you’re going to be great at it, too! That’s a great idea to send puppy-related products. We sure could have used that when we had our first puppy! (#clueless!)
June 1, 2015
Jackie, I love the development cards too. Even for a person whose had a pup before – I forgot a lot and it was nice reading and remembering the stages he’s presently in,and what to expect in the next few weeks. Great concept.
June 1, 2015
Oh wow! You’re really earning your keep at just 4 months old!
Good thing Harley doesn’t know he’s missing out on all this awesome stuff, or there’d be some sibling rivalry!
It does sound like an amazing box.
June 1, 2015
Chewy – that’s exactly why we wait until Friday to open the box. Harley’s gone and what he don’t know can’t hurt him.
June 1, 2015
This is so cool Jax! A box made just for puppies like you. Better for you to chew on that stuff rather than your mom’s shoes. Speaking of which, did you ever get to see all those shoes in the garage? Talk about puppy heaven!
June 1, 2015
He sure did Ann, fell in love with one particular camel colored ankle boot for a woman. He carried that boot around all day as we prepped the church area for the give-away. Silly Doodle!
June 1, 2015
Pupbox would be more than ideal for first time puppy parents…or second or third. I bet Jax will be a great employee.
June 1, 2015
We think so too Talent Hounds. They have great stuff in their goodie box, let’s hope Jax doesn’t get fired!
June 1, 2015
Jax you did a awesome job! What a great box!
June 1, 2015
Why thank you JoAnn, I will make sure I tell the hard working doodle as soon as he wakes up from his nap! BOL
June 1, 2015
Great job! This sounds like a pretty good gig for you. I am an older girl so probably wouldn’t do well with puppy stuff, but I will keep this product in mind and the next time one of our friends adopts a puppy …I will certainly suggest this product (and use your link, too).
My assistant was fortunate to meet Kimberly briefly at BlogPaws. She’s very knowledgeable and super nice.
June 1, 2015
Thanks! I think PupBox would be a really nice gift for a new puppy and his/her parents. Keep in mind PupBox does offer boxes for older dogs too!
June 1, 2015
Nice work, Jax! Sounds like the perfect box for you!
June 1, 2015
What a neat idea! I think Dogswell has had several recalls though so I’d be cautious.
June 1, 2015
WOW! – Thanks so much Mr. N. I haven’t opened the bag yet, but the veggie chips I received were not part of the recall. The veggie treats were made in the USA and the chicken and duck treats came from a different plant. Great looking out Mr. N. I’m feeling the love my friend.
June 1, 2015
Jax! You’re getting to be such a big boy, all still for the camera and not tearing into the box and all. Very impressive. LeeAnna and Cole, so not a puppy that he could break a hip trying to get into the box
June 1, 2015
Trust me LeeAnna, he was only sitting for about 30 seconds. I just caught it in time!
June 3, 2015
FANTASTIC blog post, Jax. So very impressed. I’m going to be following these.
June 3, 2015
Thanks Auntie Kim 🙂 Make sure you get paid for the recruiting efforts LOL
June 3, 2015
What an interesting and unique take on monthly product sampling! I love that the focus is on puppies, their parents, both their needs and includes training tips! Most excellent. Thanks for sharing such an informative post!
June 3, 2015
Hey Bernard – I loved the concept as soon as I heard about it. Everything is PAWfect for Jax at this precise age. Next month will have age appropriate goodies too. Thanks for hanging out in Doodleville. I just subscribed to your blog. Looking forward to getting to know you better through your writing.
June 4, 2015
Excellent review!! We are both seniors here, but we sure will keep Pupbox in mind for when we get a new sister!! Nice haul you got there Jax…and you are ADORABLE by the way!!
June 4, 2015
Thanks Jeanne – PupBox does offer adult boxes too! They’re just not age specific (FYI) Happy you enjoyed Jax’s first review. We hope you stay tuned next month too!
June 4, 2015
I didnot like the box noticed dog treats by dogswell In the box, they are always on recall..I would say. Barkbox is a lot safer with treats!
June 4, 2015
Hi Erin – I’m not a huge Dogswell fan either. When I checked on these veggies chips, I found they were made in the USA and haven’t been on recall like the jerky treats made outside the USA. Great looking out though.I love this internet pet community, so much to share, learn, and love. Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂
June 5, 2015
Oooh, nom, nom, nom. Looks beyond delish and helpful! Way to score Jax!
June 5, 2015
So far, Jax has been licking his chops and enjoying everything. The toys are really great because Harley seems to have no interest in them whatsoever.
