Remember GROUNDHOG DAY the movie? Bill Murray played Phil Connors, a weatherman who found himself in a time loop, repeating the same day again and again.
Ever since school started earlier this month, I have felt like the character Phil Connors! Harley has got me starring in his version of Groundhog Day the movie! …..
Nearly every morning before our walk I have to wait as he reenacts this new ritual. When the garage door goes up he crosses the lawn and stares at the door as if he’s trying to will it to open…
Thinking either Mason or Marshall need time to get to the door, he finds something on the steps to occupy his time while he waits…
A cotton ball of optimism – he continues to wait patiently, glancing at a car across the street as it pulls out of the driveway…
I stand on the curb watching him watch me – but he still won’t move…
Seems like hours go by, and then he starts his descent down the steps…
As he walks ever so slowly towards me, I can’t help but kneel down to greet him with open arms. He’s sad because his furrends are once again gone. And just like Groundhog Day the movie, this is gonna happen tomorrow because it’s only Thursday…
…Saturday morning can’t come fast enough 🙂

oh Harley you are one of the sweetest, most lovable doodles in the world! You loooove your neighbor boys. My Dash goes up to every red stroller he sees in the park because one of his favorite little people used to be in a red stroller — now she is in first grade!! But Dash insists that he check because she might just be there!!

I agree Bethany, Harley had a great Saturday with Doodle Dad, I was out of town. The kids made sure they treated him extra special, so all is right with the world again (at least for now!) BOL
