If Leo could read, he would probably “bite” my hand for sharing this story! But since he can’t, I will…
It is no secret that Leo adores his beloved “Wilson!”…
His attachment to that soccer ball is worse than Linus with his blanket…
That being said, you can imagine my surprise when I noticed Leo has taken on a new sport most recently, that doesn’t involve “Wilson.”
Let me explain…
Our backyard is like “Six Flags of America” to The Boys! They love being out there. Its terrain comes complete with a steep hill for the toys and balls to gain speed after a good toss, and just enough space for Harley to get his “run on” along the fence line…
But recently, we’ve had a visitor / intruder who will cause Harley to stop dead in his tracks…
and Leo to literally drop “Wilson” in mid stride…
I already know what you’re thinking. “What in the doodle could it be?”…
It’s this…
“Renaldo the Rabbit” (yes of course I named him). “Renaldo” drops by just about every morning. He slips through between the fence boards and either hangs around until we come out, or leaves enough of a scented trail to let us know we missed his visit.
Either way, it drives them insane, especially Leo!
The other morning while on our walk, we were about 1/2 mile from home, and Leo stopped dead in his tracks…
He had spotted “Renaldo.” Harley (who misbehaved – therefore was connected to his leash) and I watched as Leo approached with caution…
With my camera phone (never leave home without it) focused on Leo, I was unable to take a pic of Harley. He glared at Leo as if to say “you dumb doodle you”, because this is what Leo was creeping up on…
My 94 lb baby doodle was about to grab a cement lawn ornament!…
Not very appreciative of my laughter on the walk home, he retreated upstairs after breakfast and spent some time alone trying to unravel the confusion in his brain. I could tell he wanted desperately to solve the mystery of exactly what went wrong…
Later that afternoon when we went back out, he didn’t play with his toys or run around with Harley. He laid low and stayed “on guard duty” waiting for the real “Renaldo” to show up…
PS: He never did!
As always, thanks so much for reading, and I promise to keep writing…

LOL! Renaldo must be the bunny that Mila chases through the fence in your neighbor’s lawn. She wants that bunny so bad!

You know what? It probably is! Renaldo is really faster than all of them, he’ll never get caught! Thanks for reading!

That was sooooooooooooooo funny!!!!!!
We have a “Renaldo” of our own here that Dakota is completely unconcerned about (which is strange and “Renaldo” isn’t concerned about Dakota either)
They sure make those lawn ornaments appear life-like nowadays don’t they? BOL!!

Here at our house, Renaldo is keeping us extremely busy. He’s become quite the exercise initiator!
Thanks so much for sharing.
