This morning’s walk was the best! Talk about a strange occurrence? We had a breeze in the air! While the leaves on the trees swayed back and forth, Harley pranced, Leo strutted and I whistled a tune with an extra pep in my step at the crack of dawn! Could this mean the dreaded “heatwave” has ended?
Since the weather was pawsitively pawfect, I grabbed my keys, my liquid fuel (coffee) and we headed over to OTPR for an early romp through the agility course.
As always, Dixie and the staff were doodlesiastic to see us. Only when I see Leo with other people, do I get a vivid concept of his “super doodle” size…
Before we can get started, I must take on the role of “Mickey” (Burgess Meredith), “Rocky Balboa’s” trainer, and give Leo his “before you start” pep talk…
The tire was once his nemesis to conquer. And he has “finally” done just that…
Today I am so proud to present (on video) Leo’s first attempt – on the course – w/o his lease: RUNNING FREE
Now our goal is to master running “totally free” w/o Litzy or I trotting along side giving commands. I will say this – to all who have inquired about whether or not this is the right thing to do with your pet, I say “go for it!” Leo’s confidence and independence has shown remarkable development and growth. We have accomplished more than I ever believed we would (seriously) – and we’re learning together and it’s fun! He’s had no problem training with and around others, and I was honored when OTPR asked if they could use one of our photos to advertise Agility…
Once they got home, had their breakfast of champions, and then their mid morning “power nap” it was time for another adventure with their Caped Crusader furrend “Batman” from down the street…
Not sure what evil forces they were planning to ward off…
but together they are invincible and I guess that’s all that matters…
