I knew my Boys were fond of riding. They are (what one would call) my “road dogs” (pun intended)…
The car is always packed and ready for any unscheduled, impromptu excursions. And they are always up for a road trip!
Whether it’s down the street, or across State lines – once that hatch pops open, they jump right on in…
It doesn’t matter what errands are on my list They could care less about “extra cargo”. Once I had plant’s in the back seat on the floor. Tall leaves bouncing all over the place.
Didn’t bother them at all. They sat back there like they were born and raised in the wilderness. “Jungle Doodles”…
Imagine the expression on my face when Harley went to visit a neighbor anipal, and “bummed a ride” back to the house…
However – – – Friday’s carnival act was pawlarious.
DH needed to zip right up the street and fill two coolers with ice. Wouldn’t have taken more than a few minutes – 30 at best. I wasn’t going, but as we talked, I helped carry one of the coolers down the driveway.
We placed the coolers in the car, and before I could get my foot from the curb to the lawn, “Frick and Frack were in the back”…
Once we stopped laughing, he told them to get out, but that was useless. They weren’t budging. I told them if they wanted to stay, they would have to sit down. Do you know these knuckle heads listened?
At that precise moment I realized I was part of one “Doodle Crazy Family.” So I grabbed my phone, locked the door, and joined them.
As we drove out of our subdivision, Harley laid parallel to Leo. But when we turned on the main road – he rose up …
Not traveling too fast, and the weather being “just right” Harley was literally “basking” in the sunlit breeze. Because they are practically the same color, I could not figure out how in the “doodle” he was sitting up so straight. All of a sudden he looked unusually tall. It took the distance of two full blocks and one traffic light before I was able to solve this mystery. But after studying them, I finally “got it!” He was using Leo as his pawrest…
I don’t know what seemed stranger:
- Harley hanging on to Leo
- Leo letting Harley hang on
You be the judge…
A quick, local trip to pick up a couple of bags of ice to some can seem so simple. In my world it’s a pawventure! I guess I really do live in “Doodleville”…
Governed by these two…
Thanks fur reading, show the Boys to a co-worker this week, and “doodle dare” them not to smile…

Cathy, this blog is just the cutest ever! The boys in the car are darling and they definitely love riding in the car! The video is priceless and the music is just perfect! I need the boys to give Libby some advice about riding in a car. She is not so good at trips in the car! Lots of anxiety! Libby and I were surprised Wilson wasn’t in the car:) Thanks for all your wonderful stories! They make us smile:)

Thanks Lonnie –
Today will be a struggle because I have to try and keep the Boys clean – so no outings. They have to take some photos tomorrow for a project I’m working on. So I guess that mean’s I won’t go anywhere near my car keys – HA! The things we do for doodles. Keep smiling and thanks for reading.
