The other day, I called Olde Towne Pet Resort looking for a HUGE favor. “Hi Dixie, this is Cathy. I was wondering – do you all own a Santa suit? I want Harley to take a few photos with Santa.”
To accelerate my excitement, she said “yes” and before I could offer up a family member to wear it (yes, I was thinking Doodle Dad), she suggested the day and time for us to come over AND she said Santa would be waiting! #lovethisstaff
I’m a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas. I don’t touch the decorations nor do I hum Nat King Cole’s “Christmas Song” until AFTER Thanksgiving. By the 5th of December, I’m in deep…
I’ve stopped a long time ago trying to psychoanalyze how/why the holiday season seems to ignite life into that dormant inner child in all most of us? I just know it does it for me, and I’m okay with that.
When Harley and I arrived at the Pet Resort, I did what I always do – I inconspicuously “ease” over to their holiday tree. Each year they make pawdorable decorations incorporating photos of their “clients!” It never fails – every year I get “goosies” when I find his ornament…
As I was taking a few photos of the tree, just like in the movies, I heard it “HO-HO-HO, Merry Christmas.” Curious to Harley’s reaction, I braced myself for a whimper, perhaps a bark, maybe even a low “what in the doodle” kind of growl. What was I thinking?
Can we all sing “I saw Harley kissing Santa Claus”…
What a love fest…
They later sat, laughed and tail wagged it up a bit…
I did get a few poses which I believe I can work with…
But when I think about Harley and what describes him best, I sort of favor this one…
It’s not pawfect, but then again, neither are we! #farfromit

Dash & Lilly, did you see Santa yet?
December 15, 2014
We missed him!! Our vet had him there on Friday and well, mom just couldn’t swing it all. But we sure have been wearing our Christmas bandanas, our collars and last night Mom put Reinder antlers on us!!!
December 15, 2014
And by the way, Harley and Dash dance the same way!! That wiggle/jump up move is so funny when Dash is happy. Just like Harley
December 15, 2014
When he puts it all together and races around the room, it turns into a hop (of sorts) and that’s when we all chant “Go rabbit, Go rabbit” Silly Doodle!
December 15, 2014
Well there you have it Dash & Lilly! Who needs Santa when Doodles will wear bandanas and antlers? Make sure you share those photos!
December 15, 2014
What a great video…Harley knows he’s been a good boy, so he knows Santa is going to be good to him this year 😉
December 15, 2014
The jury’s still out on what to get him – trust me when I say “Harley’s got just about everything” #humbug!

Susan, I would have to agree, he’s in need of a slight trim, but I’m loving the fullness of all the fluff. Thanks for stopping by!

OMG this is adorable. You both are so white too LOL
December 15, 2014
Tis true Talent Hounds, throw them both against a totally white background and like magic “POOF” they’d disappear!
December 15, 2014
What a lover! We have seen Santa a few times but there is always a line and he is never all that fun, so we haven’t kissed him. Nice job, Harley!
December 16, 2014
Emma, this was Harley’s first Santa meeting. I was surprised with the kissing myself!

Love these!! We have a Christmas Bazaar every year at our pet resort and are always looking for new photo ops for out furry clients.
January 30, 2015
How cool is that! I travel to Charleston SC a great deal (my husbands family lives there) but I see Greer is a little over 3 hours away. 🙁 Thought it would be fun to come and say hello when we were in the area. The Christmas photos were so much fun. I didn’t know Harley was such a Santa fan! Thanks for stopping by!
