I loved it at first, it was white, it was cold…
We had fun till week twelve, then it quickly got old….
On early morning walks when that cold wind would blow,
I’d shudder, move faster and think “Oh my Doodle – oh no”….
My collar got chilly, my paws they were freezing,
By the time I got home, I couldn’t stop sneezing…
I remember the grass – soft, tickley, and green….
Now a distant memory, now more like a dream…
I have visions of warm weather, no ice, and no snow,
Where the heat from the sun helps the flowers to grow…
By then I will know better days are within reach,
For soon after that, baby, I’ll be back at the beach…
But until that day comes, I will wait, pout, and vent,
But my mom understands, she named it “Harley’s Lament”…
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!!
PS: Harley’s such a “Drama Doodle”…

Good thing you don’t live in Minnesota where we have over two feet on the ground, below zero temps and wind chills. We are starting to tire of winter at this point. It has been a blast, but there is just too much cold and snow right now.

Emma – we’ve got family in St. Paul, and it is just too too cold for us there. Very pretty and we love it during the spring and summer, but for the winter we’d have to hoof it back East. You’re a very brave girl…
