National #walkyourdogweek started yesterday! I was so excited to participate this year because I’m living in a new state with millions of miles of unexplored terrain to cover. But I never thought I would be walking a dog in a hurricane!…
Pet Lifestyle Expert & Animal Behaviorist Colleen Paige founded Walk Your Dog Week…
It was started as a way to fight pet obesity and mange behavioral issues. An ingenious idea to promote the benefits of exercise, and improve the health and wellbeing of both dog and human!
I missed the collaboration last year when a few of my fav bloggers put together a blog hop in support of this endeavor…
My initial goal was to explore different parts of downtown, a few beautiful parks, and of course the beach during the course of the week.
I thought I could give you a mini Charleston tour of #myhappyplace from the ends of two leashes…
Hurricane Joaquin might make this a little difficult this week. With extremely dangerous Category 4 Storm like winds and rain headed up the East Coast, the Governor of South Carolina has already declared a state of emergency.
Downtown Charleston was one of the areas I wanted to share with you this week #gottachangeplans…
I don’t have much hurricane experience so I wanted to make sure I was “prepared” for whatever Joaquin decided to bring our way. I am happy to report after going over a PetCare Disaster Preparedness list courtesy of the ASPCA.
I am “good to go” with one exception –
I do not have a Rescue Alert Sticker for our new home.#butwillordertoday!
This sticker will let people know there are pets inside the house. #pawfect
You can include:
- the types and number of pets
- the name of their vet
- the vet’s telephone number
These stickers are FREE so fill out the online order form right here!
Thank you to those who’ve already messaged me with your concerns and prayers. At this time we are safe, and I am walking the Boys one at a time #thatsafirst so I can control the dog, the umbrella, the wind, and still carry the poop bag!
Once this storm passes we’ll do our best to get back on board with some new adventures during #walkyourdogweek, so stay tuned.
Have a great weekend, be safe and try to walk somewhere if you can!
