WRANGLER JEEP – FUN AND SAFE FOR PETS TOO!

By Monday, August 22, 2016 28 , , , Permalink

Years ago, I fell hard for the Wrangler Jeep series. Like a Michael Kors handbag, my love for it never died, it would just mellow out for a little while until I saw the new line.

They’re sleek, sporty, sexy #yessexy and their drivers always look like they are having a blast behind the wheel.

It’s the only 4X4 convertible on the market with several models to choose from –

  • Sport
  • Rubicon
  • Sahara
  • Hard Rock

Each model offers many variations –

  • Two doors or four
  • Soft top or hard
  • Unlimited or regular
  • Automatic or standard

Once you make your selection you can literally “build your own.”

As for me – it really doesn’t matter much. I love them all #heartbeat

COLLAR US FLATTERED –

– when our new friends at Rick Hendrick (Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Fiat) dealership of North Charleston invited Groovy Goldendoodles™ to experience a 2016 4 door “soft top” Rubicon for a few days…

WRANGLER JEEP - FUN FOR PETS TOO!

Living here in Charleston is the perfect place for a Wrangler Jeep. We have more than our share of sunny days throughout the year to fold back the top, unzip the sides and roll up the rear.

The sweet smell of salt water in the air, the beautiful warm breeze on the back of your neck, and those breathtaking blue skies above – would make driving around town (in this car) a joy and never a hassle.

The spacious 4 door model gave us all the room we needed. Jaxson and Harley were quite comfy as soon as they hopped in…

WRANGLER JEEP - FUN FOR PETS TOO!

When Jaxson popped his head out of the open roof top – I was happy I had his Click It Harness by Sleepy Pod with me. #daredevildoodle

RUGGED YET REFINED INTERIOR –

I was pleasantly surprised with the ample storage space. I also noticed there was no excessive noise with the soft top nor any vibration. This was one of my fears. #notanymore

Love, love, LOVE that everything I needed to touch, push or turn was located directly in front of me. Nothing to look for or operate on the door panels…

WRANGLER JEEP - FUN FOR PETS TOO!…which I personally prefer AND it makes sense since the doors come completely off – if that’s how you want to roll. #doonbuggydoodles

I liked the grip and feel of the leather wrapped steering wheel.

The center console has two deep compartments and it locks!

It’s also Jaxson’s resting spot before take off…

Alpine sound system built into the row bar above allowed Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind & Fire to come in strong and clear with the top off.#signedsealeddeliveredImyours

AN IMPRESSIVE EXTERIOR –

Perhaps as an Army wife for more than two decades, I’ve developed a soft spot in my heart for this vehicle.

Whatever the reason, I find the exterior design and lines of all the models to be “clean, mean AND lean”…

WRANGLER JEEP - FUN FOR PETS TOO!

Removing and replacing the top and sides are easy and very “manageable” for a woman with two doodles…

WRANGLER JEEP - FUN FOR PETS TOO!

The Boys loved having the sides open especially at a fast food drive thru.

I mean really – who wouldn’t give these two free ice cream?…

UNDER THE HOOD –

When it comes to traveling – I’ve got this need for speed. #okayIdrivefast

The Rubicon satisfied my needs.

A powerful and efficient V6 engine with 16 city / 21 hwy mpg. A 285 horsepower engine with fuel efficiency up to 472 highways miles on a tank of gas. Source: Wrangler Jeep

We took the Rubicon on a mini overnight adventure. Plenty of trunk space for a cooler, computers, overnight bags for two AND Doodle luggage!

2.5 hours on the road headed to Hilton Head Island felt like 45 minutes. Harley slept, and Jaxson kept his face pointed towards the breeze.

OUR RUBICON DAYS-

My Rubicon experience exceeded my expectations!

I found the Jeep to be –

  • pet safe
  • capable for off and on road adventures
  • stylish AND spacious
  • fuel efficient
  • easy to handle
  • fun to drive

I believe the Boys already miss it. After all, the current Doodle-mobile doesn’t have zip out side windows 🙁

Many thanks to Tony Rodriguez, Dennis Pierce and all the staff at Rick Hendrick Jeep.

If you live in or near Charleston and you’re looking for a new car, you can’t go wrong with our new friends. Tell em “the Boys” sent you!

Have a Doodle*tastic week ❤️

Looks like a lot of fun. My mom is weird. She doesn’t like convertibles, or cars with soft tops of any kind, just a large sunroof. These do look fun, especially in a warmer climate. Good thing the boys were strapped in so they couldn’t jump out.

I love the open sky! But then that’s why I ride a Harley! And you’re right – the warmer climate does make it more tempting #indeed The Boys have never given me the impression that they would entertain jumping out of a moving vehicle – but even with the sides out, it would be pretty tough. But they’ll have a hard time if they ever tried with the harness on! Give your mom a hug for me!

Looks like y’all had a great time!! I can understand why you loved riding around in your temporary wheels!

I’m kinda like Emma’s mom in that I don’t really like convertibles/soft-top cars; but I also don’t like sunroofs – the glare from the sun always made it difficult to see anything clearly in the rear view mirror. At least around here, anyway. That’s why I didn’t get one in my Impala when it was time to trade in the Blazer nearly ten years ago.

I love moving air! I have the best memories riding my motorcycles. The different smells always make me laugh out loud. But just as much as I adore it – I respect and understand those who prefer not to. I will ride with the top down for both of us girlfriend! Hope you have a beautiful week.

Very cool wheels and a pawfect vehicle for the Rocky Mountain region as well as Hilton Head! Hope you build your version soon. 🙂

I heard you can drive them on the beach sand in NC. I used to drive a Hummer (yes, I did!) and when we vacationed in the Outer Banks we would take it out on the sand. Can’t do it here in SC, but if I ever get one, I just might have to go back to Nc and check it out. Take care Monika!

They are really cool cars but we hear they tip pretty easily. Like the red

They are cool – I also heard that rumor, but apparently it was an issue decades ago, but no longer. The red is nice, but that wouldn’t be my color of choice. #tooloud 🙂

Nice ride, boys. Oh you, too, Mom. 🙂 What a great experience and cool partnership. I saw Jeep hires the boys as their mascots. Done. They look like they’re quite cozy in the vehicle and endorse it 100%. 🙂

I would LOVE for the Jeep folks to hire the Boys. We would certainly enjoy that partnership! I’ll have to let them know your idea…. XOXO

I have never been in a Jeep myself but it always looks like so much fun! I’m sure our boys would go crazy for those zip out windows! Lots of golden hair would be blowing in the wind!

      August 22, 2016

It was a lot of fun Kevin! Your boys would have the biggest smiles on their faces when that breeze flows through all that golden hair!

I love the Jeep!! When I was in my 20’s a friend of mine had a Jeep. She’d pick us up & We’d drive out to the Hamptons in the Jeep with the top down & her dog in the back. I thought it was the Coolest thing – I still think it’s the Coolest thing! You & the boys must have had a great couple of days with that gorgeous Jeep!!

Cathy it was so much fun. Exactly as you described it! Both Boys seemed to love all the air. I would love to have one. It did make our little mini vacay extra special…

Wow, this is SO COOL! I especially love the color and that windows zip off. I bet it was hard to give this back.

I have a very funny story about a jeep (not sure it was a Wrangler, but I think so). I had a late work event and was offered a ride home from a co-worker in her jeep. I am on the short side – as in 5’2 on a good day. Getting in and out of a jeep in a dress when you are short is nearly impossible! Still not sure how I managed, but it wasn’t a pretty sight!

    • Cathy Bennett
      August 23, 2016

OMDoodle – your dress story is hilarious! I would’ve loved to seen a short video on you trying to hop up there. It still is pretty high. I was a bit concerned for Harley (short legs and all) but he hopped up with no problem. It’s a really nice car – and yes – they had to pry the keys out of my hands. One day, one day….

I have driven Jeeps for years! I absolutely adore my latest one…it’s a Grand Cherokee Overland. I do not know how I lived without air conditioned seats prior to this!! And the Adaptive Cruise Control…is AMAZING! The girls love riding in the Jeep too with the panoramic sun roof WIDE open!

So glad you all enjoyed yourselves…what FUN!!

Hi Jean – you’re my kind of woman! I was super impressed with how quiet and smooth the ride was. I’ve always loved the look, but now I’m in love with the feel 🙂

What fun that you got to try that out, and it looks perfect for the boys! I’ve never really been a fan of Jeeps (a close friend of mine is crazy about them too though) – I like a smoother ride – but I can certainly see the attraction, especially with the way you described it!

Girlfriend – no not yet! But you know I was thinking about you and your Jeep club #envious:( I think I want to buy the Sahara four door – soft top. Will make a decision probably by the end of the year. It’s the perfect car for the Boys and I living here in Charleston. Loved it!
