Have you ever really thought much about the power of love? I’ve always known it to be a very powerful emotion. As a child I thrived on it. I was taught to cherish, respect, and give love.
Psychology Today said it best:
“Love is as critical for your mind and body as oxygen.”
I whole heartily agree with that statement even more since the invasion of breast cancer in our home almost thirteen years ago.
No it wasn’t me, it was our daughter Tiffany, diagnosed twice – first at age twenty four and again when she was twenty seven. But that’s not my story today.
Today I just wanted to tell you, I’ve witnessed the true power of love through a Goldendoodle named Harley. Although Harley came along “after” the physical Tiffany was healed, he helped her through the really difficult part of recovery – finding the courage and the desire to “not” be afraid to live again…
There is a very special almost “secretive” bond between the two that displays such tenderness. He’s always shown enormous sensitivity when her journey seemed too arduous to travel.
To learn more about Tiffany, grab a cup of your favorite liquid, get comfy and read an interview titled Cancer, Water, and Goldendoodles from Modern Women Magazine…
Come back on Friday, to hear more about Harley and the power of “his” love that truly made a difference during the ultimate battle of a young girls life…

We dogs have amazing powers over humans. Mom says she can’t imagine how sad her life would be without us girls around. Harley is an amazing boy and we look forward to that next post.

Rama’s Mama – Thank you for participating in the walk. It’s a gift to me, whenever I come across someone who walks – runs – or donates time and/or funds to advancing research for this beastly disease. Tiffany’s struggle was no different from many others, but she’s mine, and I pray regularly for a day when others don’t have to experience this. I haven’t forgotten to donate to your team, will do so today. God bless you my friend!

Thank you for sharing this very touching story. The wonderful unselfish love and tireless devotion of a pet can truly help us through life’s most difficult challenges. I have experienced this with my yellow lab (who has since passed) and now with my golden retriever, Savanna.

I totally agree with you about the power of love. I also believe strongly in the human-animal bond, pets provide so much love, support & healing. I’m glad Tiffany had Harley to help her through it.
