RUHA LEATHER

By Thursday, December 4, 2014 10 Permalink

When RUHA  contacted me about personalizing a leather collar for Harley. I could hardly contain myself.

Here’s why…

Over the course of time, I’ve come to accept that we as humans all have our weaknesses.

Let me tell you about one of mine.. If you’re selling something AND you tell me I can “personalize it.” You’ve got my undivided attention. You are speaking my language baby. Consider me “bought and sold” when it comes to personalized items as gifts.

Second to personalized gifts comes online shopping. So RUHA was presenting me with what I call a double D combination: a “Dynamite Doodletastic” moment. I could sit in my office AND design my own personalized leather products… #coolio

Just as I have this fetish for shoes and handbags, I also have one about dog collars. Collars and leashes are all over my laundry room. I call it his signature accessory! #accordingtome

RUHA uses “permanent laser engraving”, so once again I am free of the noisy metal ID tags, and whatever I choose to engrave on the collar will not rub off…

Even though I chose a dog collar, there are other items for you to personalize…

The website is very user friendly, and easy to navigate through each step. The hardest part for me was deciding on what style to select. I was stuck between two of them…

It was so hard to make up my mind, I had to revert to scientific methods…

The collar arrived in record time. I used his entire name and added my telephone number. I am pleased with how legible it is…

Here’s what I also liked…

  • The edges are somewhat round so it shouldn’t snag or tangle his long hair.
  • The leather is soft yet sturdy.
  • Very reasonably priced
  • I was happy to find it bendable AND flexible, making it easy to buckle around Harley’s neck…

It’s my fault that Harley’s become a Doodle Fashionista #dontjudgeme that’s why he’s frowning in this photo….

…he’s not too happy, that I don’t have a matching leash #saywhat

So I guess I’ll be shopping for a leather leash soon…

As always, thank you so very much for sharing me with all your friends!

Looks like a good one for a boy. Mom likes us girls to were colorful, fun collars, no leather, but they are nice looking for the right dog 🙂

I’ve got to admit Emma, what you’re barking makes pawfect sense. You and your sisters have so much more versatility when it comes to accessories. Harley wouldn’t stand still if I tried to put flowers or fancy designs on him. Yep, he’s a leather kind of Doodle 🙂

We haven’t had any leather collars for a while, and I love leather. These collars look so awesome….the engraving is so fancy!!

Jan, this is our first one. I’m looking forward to “breaking it in” – I’ve always loved the worn look of leather collars and leashes. Thanks so much for stopping by.

I’ve seen customized web collars but they are pretty ugly compared to these.

BTW, you should definitely get a leather leash. Leather softens over time (Harley’s collar will only get more comfortable for him) and molds to your hand.

My husband suggested I get one when my last dog was pulling on walks hard enough to make my hands bleed. I no longer have that problem. But I still love the feel of the leather in my hand.

I’d have a talk with your friends at RUHA to see if they can hook you up.

For some reason Pamela, in the past, I always thought leather would be rough and hard. I’m now a convert. Can’t wait for Harley’s to get that “worn look” too. I know what you mean about the leashes cutting into your hand. Listen, there’s no shame in my game BOL I would have definitely asked RUHA for a leash if they carried them, but they don’t 🙁 I plan to shop around and try to find one that matches. Harley’s got to “match” you know…. LOL Have a great weekend my friend!

Oh Harley, you are getting ready for that bike ride!!! The leather is coming together. Hey, we got the other tags you mentioned a few weeks ago. Now I carry a picture of the doodles on my key chain. I love it!!

That’s great Dash & Lilly, so happy you are pleased with the key pendant. Don’t you love it when people ask your Doodle Mom about it when they see it dangling?

That’s GREAT Scottie – I’m going to order a set for furrends that travel a lot. I think they’ll like them because I will use a photo of her and the Boys. Send me a photo of yours when they arrive!
