In August I wrote a post called Practice Makes Perfect. It featured Harley, and a really cute “button nosed” little girl named Carmen.
Since Harley is now a Tail Wagging Tutor, I thought I could practice with a “live” subject and tweak a few commands required when working with children. I not only accomplished my mission, but as a bonus, I am able to share some great “practice makes perfect” bloopers with you today.
Carmen has a younger sister named Corrin, and even though Corrin and Harley had never met she was extremely comfortable around him…
Corrin sat quietly and patiently throughout “most” of Harley’s training session with big sister Carmen. When we finished – I noticed Corrin had wiggled her way over to Harley…
I grabbed my camera just in time to catch Harley realize for the first time that she was even there…
At first she wasn’t aware of why he was leaning inward…
Corrin “bobbed” and “weaved” like “Muhammad Ali” when Harley tried to get a little too furrendly on their first date…
She certainly wasn’t having it when he tried to steal some kisses. “Yuck” was what I think she said…
We took a break, and Harley drank some water while the humans talked. As I gathered my things, I glanced at Harley and saw Corrin sitting with him holding a book. She started talking to him, and I just let the video roll. Watch as she recites her version of Curious George. Listen and you’ll laugh as I did when she tells him “you’re all wet”...

Looks like you really enjoy reading Curious George, Harley! Nice work on sneaking in a kiss with the girl here and there too! I have to hear that “you’re all wet” thing too with my beard. Humans!

Curious George seems to hold his interest a little more than Dr. Seuss Emma. Harley is definitely a kisser, that’s for sure!

Kissy-face Harley!! You are too much. Yes, Lilly loves to give kisses JUST after drinking from her bowl. Dash and Lilly want to invite your sweet friend over to read to them! And to show them the pictures. Was there a picture of a cat? Have a great day Harley!

I always tell people that Harley learned how to kiss when he went to the pet resort 🙂 Wet kisses are just part of the flair when it comes to a Doodle BOL. Hugs to Dash and Lilly!

I saw that Talent Hounds. It was a great story. Harley and I are waiting another week or so (want to give the teachers a chance to get acquainted with their students) before we start communicating with more schools in the area that are interested in the program.

Lol! I thought therapy dogs weren’t supposed to lick? That’s what I was told anyway. Enjoying Curious George?

They’re really not supposed to lick – hence the reason I’m still working with him LOL

Aw Harley! I think you are doing an excellent job! I know that my daughters would love reading with you. Especially my youngest. She’s used to dog kisses already so pucker up!

OMD. That’s adorable. I’m so proud of Harley. What a great thing he’s doing, listening to those stories, encouraging kids to read!

Thanks Susan, when I watch him interact with the children, I truly believe he enjoys it as much as the children do!
