NO – JAX IS NOT MISSING
But if he was…
…would I know what to do?
This question haunted me after reading a heartbreaking story.
A story about a missing Goldendoodle named Kramer…
STORY SUMMARY –
The pet parent (Nik Glaser) took a short trip, leaving Kramer with a friend. But something went wrong.
The friend unexpectedly decided she was no longer able to watch him and says she returned him to Nik’s apartment. Nik had guests staying in his apartment while he was away and they say his dog sitter never returned Kramer to the apartment.
Two days later when he returned home, his beloved dog was gone.
When I finished reading his story a second time – I used my shirt sleeve like a Kleenex and began scouring the internet. I wanted to know – just where does one start such a horrific search.
I believe we all would know to do most of these things –
- post signs
- canvas the area
- knock on doors
- visit local police stations
- stop by animal shelters
- local rescue groups
- animal hospitals
- place newspaper ads
I’m not so sure I would have thought about the power of the internet #genius
Social Media can reach thousands in less than an hour…
Did you know there was a Missing Pets USA Facebook page?#Ididnt…
Among the many sites available to assist with reuniting lost pets, I found –
One central location – available for one purpose – to help you get your lost pet back home. #beautiful
- privately funded
- free for everyone
- created by a team of dedicated specialists.
Whether you’ve lost or found a pet, they offer a –
- register page
- advice page
- listings of pets lost and found
- website resources
- search engine resources
I pray no one EVER has to register with them. #pleaseJesus
But I wanted you to know they are there.
Social Media is such a powerful tool.
A “tweet” a “like” a “share” a “pin” a “❤️”- whatever your pleasure – can you take a moment this weekend and share Kramer’s picture/story?
He’s out there somewhere and who knows –
YOUR REACH COULD REUNITE THEM –
I can’t begin to think too long or too hard about what “I would do” – the thought alone makes me queazy.
But I can certainly try to help someone else.
CAN YOU? –
You’re the best! Have a great weekend & feel free to share this post!
ONE MORE THING –
If you’re living in the path of this historic blizzard…
