Even though this classic fairy tale of all times was written eons ago, is it just me or does it seem a lot like a warning to children about the dangers of talking to strangers?

Once upon a time on the edge of a great forest lived Hansel and Gretel. Children of a woodcutter who remarried a cruel mean woman who didn’t like either of them. One day she took both of them deep into the forest and left them there. Clever Hansel dropped bread crumbs along the way so they could find their way back home. The birds ate all the crumbs and they couldn’t find their way back home…

Deeper and deeper into the forest, hungry and tired, they saw a cottage made of chocolate, candies, and cake.

The wicked witch lived there, and when she saw Hansel and Gretel, she wanted to eat them. She lured them inside, grabbed them and locked them in a cage…

Harley and Gretel

Like all classics, somebody eventually comes along and tries to rewrite the fairy tale.

 Here’s My Version -Doodle Style 

Once upon a time in a village called Doodleville, lived a Goldendoodle named “Harley” and his human sister Gretel. Harley and Gretel played well together, and regularly their games included trickery aimed at each other.

One day, Gretel climbed into Harley’s crate to tease him. He wanted her out but she just laughed and laughed, until the wicked Doodle Mom walked by and locked the cage …

    Hahaha. Love it! Hmmm. Favorite fairy tale…. I think probably Beauty & The Beast. Always had a soft spot for that beast!
