“Cathy, I would love to interview you for an episode on my new internet show – bizworktv.com. Would you be interested?”
This telephone conversation lasted about 15-20 minutes and the entire time I was “cool as a cucumber” until we said goodbye. Once I put that cell phone down, I danced around in a circle like I had lost my “ever loving doodle mind!” …
My life is CRAZY!!!!!!!! (in a doodletastic way of course!)
I cannot count the number of times magical moments like this one have occurred since Harley & Leo came into my life…
Mayra (aka:the doodle wizard) is the mastermind behind our new website. She is my social media / marketing mentor and a very dear friend. The manner in which we met was so unusual, it had to be part of my blog posting destiny!
After giving the news a few days to soak in, I was still “soaring” because she asked me, but at the same time every fiber of my being felt “paralyzed” with fear once I accepted. The mere thought of the whole idea made me as uncomfortable as I could be.
But I gave her my word, and I wanted to support her. I have learned so much from her, and we work well together. “Doodle-sticks” I was going to do this even if I fainted in the process…
So what exactly is bizworktv?
bizworkTV is a new internet-based web show created by the collaboration between two small business owners: brand journalist and digital strategist Mayra Ruiz-McPherson and film producer and photographer extraordinaire Karina Djijo.
The show’s focus is three-fold:
- bizworkTV highlights entrepreneurs and business owners “in action” at their place of business.
- Various subject-matter experts are also featured discussing topics of high interest and value to bizworkTV’s entrepreneurial audience.
- Many episodes also incorporate a product feature or latest news and updates in social media, digital tech and web publishing tailored to business owners seeking to maximize their efforts in marketing, advertising and communications both on- and offline.
The collaborative team of Mayra and Karina decided that the “dynamic doodle duo” should be a part of the interview. It made sense to me, after all, it is because of them that this is happening, right?
Right!
We arrived at the “studio” for what I thought would be about a two hour session. I mean really, how long would it take to answer a few questions?
I failed to factor in the “doodle-groupies.” First Mayra had to spend time cooing over them…
Karina was next in the TLC distribution line…
While they rubbed, cuddled and hugged doodles, I read an article written about Mayra in a local magazine. When I finished, I went to grab more coffee only to return in time to catch what looked like Harley attempting to “read” the article himself…
We posed for some more photos…
And clowned around in the process…
Filming took almost all day. Call it nerves, anxiety, whatever – but when it was over, I was exhausted…
Harley & Leo were “pros” they seemed to have had a great time hanging out with us…
They tell me they are a little behind, but Episode 1 “Bizworktv Goes To The Dogs” will air October 17th…
So let’s call it a “date.” After dinner, toss some popcorn in the microwave, grab your favorite beverage and let’s watch it together, say Friday night… (It will be my first time too!). Don’t worry – I’ll remind you!
From the bottom of our hearts, we say “thank you” for reading and laughing and enjoying The Boys
