A NEW LOVE FOR A GOLDENDOODLE

Time really does fly when you’re having fun…

A couple of years ago, I blogged about an adorable little boy named “Alex” whose first encounter with Harley was in Home Depot of all places…

Harley was larger than what Alex wanted to deal with at that age, so their meeting wasn’t exactly a “magical moment.” Alex was fine with Harley remaining in “his own” shopping cart!  When they met again, Alex’s legs were a little longer, and he was confident around Harley as long as an adult was around.

Last week “doodleships” were tested on a whole new level when an even taller Alex had his first official introduction to Leo!

In Virginia, should a dusting of snow fall to the ground, board of education jumps into “high alert” and public schools shut down immediately…

Alex graced our home for the first time – for a few hours – that morning, and we started slow with the doodle “re-introduction.” The boys are remarkably gentle, Harley waited patiently while Alex added the ground chicken to his breakfast…

For Alex hanging out with Harley was a breeze. Leo on the other hand would take some time! DH willingly stepped in to assist with the bonding. He got on the floor and demonstrated to Alex how to administer a “doodle-rub” (not that he’s had any “formal” training…).  Alex gingerly placed one hand on Leo, but decided not to look at him – at all!…

After awhile you could see he felt a little more comfortable and gained a little more confidence. Let’s face it, Leo (especially to a child) is a BIG dog…

What happened next – I have no doubt – will make you smile at least once during your day! Watch this mini video clip before you continue to read the rest of this story. It’s “pawsome”...
LEO & HIS NEW FRIEND ALEX
After Leo extended his leg to Alex, his smile lit up the room. Even Harley decided to move up and get in line for the next doodle-rub…

Scooby Doo is always better when you have someone to watch it with…

When I asked Alex if Leo was his new BFF, he never opened his mouth he just grabbed his buddy and the two of them smiled back at the camera…

The boys are so good with children, I am seriously considering and currently researching a therapy program called TAIL WAGGING TUTORS. Check out the video, it seems like the perfect match for my doodles. Does anyone out there have any information to share on this subject? If so – please do…

Thanks for reading….
