I have a Goldendoodle who is – THAT DOOD!
Why do I call Jaxson “that dood?….
Because to me?
He is – in that doodle-dog kind of way.
Not that long ago people started describing or referring to people as ”that guy” or “that dude.”
After observing someone doing or saying something awkward, offensive, or stupid, Doodle Dad will sometimes utter –
you don’t want to be that guy.
According to the Urban dictionary, “that guy / that dude” is –
Any person who consistently shows disregard for the normal social behavior of any given social situation, or has no concept of what the normal social behavior is for any given social situation.
This is why I believe – when it comes to dogs – Jaxson is “that dood”…
HE’S THAT DOOD –
- who thinks those extra pair of sunglasses in the car are there for him…
- that pops up from out of nowhere to photo bomb your selfie…
- but then when you scold him, he lays a kiss on your cheek to make it all better…
Never has this been an issue with Harley #thewellmanneredone Harley is too reserved and laid back to be labeled as “that dood.”
On the other paw, Jax has absodoodletutely no concept of what normal social behavior is. Never have I experienced such friendly defiance before.
IN YOUR FACE –
Jaxson’s most egregious disregard to social behavior comes in the form of his blatant disrespect towards my nagging him from getting all up #inyourface…
I constantly have to tell him – he don’t need to “reach out and touch” every single time…
He believes the sole purpose of a human in a chair is for his benefit. Eye level contact is something he can’t ignore…
If you bend, squat, or kneel down, I cannot save you. Like Jaws – he’s coming for you…
A lovable bundle of fur in perpetual motion! “This Dood” refuses to participate in the practice of normal social graces. Three years and a few months trying to correct this behavior – and I’m exhausted.
From now on – I’m coming over to the other side. Gonna be “that Dood’s” Doodle Mom. Let him be him.
Might even get a t-shirt made…
Tell me, whose’s got a “that Dood” living in their house?
We got that Friday feeling ❤

He looks like he just enjoys being social. My sisters are always in people’s faces too. Why not?

Well, she’s not a Doodle, but Ducky is definitely a “that Dog!” And I love her just the way she is. I’ve pretty much accepted that she is super-protective of me. I wasn’t the first human to show her love, but I am the first human to give her a taste of home life, so I guess being protective is her way of saying thank you. ❤️

That dog, doodle, all the same thing my friend! Ducky sounds like a very special dog one who was blessed by you coming into her life and a blessing back to you.

Yeah…there’s at least one in every ‘furmily.’ I’m convinced it’s the poodle genes.
