TAKE YOUR DOG TO WORK

Friday was “take your dog to work” day. It’s the official day when pups are often welcomed into the workplace (depending on where you work of course!).

Designed to celebrate canines and promote the adoption of dogs, it was created in 1999 by Pet Sitters International.

But what do you do and where do you go when you work from home? –

You get creative!

Friday’s generally all about Harley. He gets up extra early (all on his own) and spends the entire day at doggie day care.#lifemember

Knowing this was how my day would begin, I had a plan.

I called and asked if Jax could come there and work. “Thank-the-doodle” for sponsors like Olde Towne Pet Resort – they welcomed Jax with open arms…

otprAfter all, as sponsors of this blog, one could “technically” say the Boys already work here #humormeplease

8:15 AM

Since Red Bull would possibly probably send him to the vet, we opted for a puppachino from Starbucks to jump start his day…

DSCN1389

His entire life (all 5.75 months worth) – he’s only been in the building long enough to drop Harley off. When he realized he was staying for the day, his inexhaustible energy had him bouncing off the walls. #nomorepuppachinos

9:30 AM

Clint suggested a swim to release some of that adrenal before getting started with his workday. Who could possibly say “no” to a four-foot deep, 20-foot long indoor heated lap pool?…

DSCN1553

This was his first deep water experience so for his safety we started with the life jacket.

Don’t ever think all dogs can swim #myth Proceed with caution until you’re sure. In this case, water to Jaxson is like breathing. He loves it…

So the jacket came off…

DSCN1521

…and my Doodle Bug became a Doodle Dolphin #flipperdoodle

10:20 AM

Detour to grooming! Can’t meet with Marketing dripping wet now can we?

Clean and dry but looking a hot mess, it was time for his first trim…

DSCN1566

No way could he be around clients looking wild and crazy….

DSCN1576

1:00 PM

We brought Jaxson’s July PupBox along so he could show the retail staff things that puppies really like…

DSCN1598

1:30 PM

The meeting was short because it was Friday. Friday’s are always busy at the front desk…

DSCN1622

Their procedure manual states: when the phones start ringing like chapel bells, holla’ for “back-up”…

reservations

1:50 PM

Ten minutes before the interview. Must borrow a tie from their retail department. Wasn’t sure which way he should go…

TIES

The applicant was very friendly. He seemed quite comfortable having a dog participate in a job interview for a pet resort…

DSCN1629

Jax barked out a couple of question and jotted down a few notes…

DSCN1634

2:30 PM

Since he never took a lunch break, we were allowed to clock out before his shift ended. He went upstairs to get Harley…

THE REST OF HIS AFTERNOON –

I wonder if they’ll put him on the schedule for next week? #Igotjokes

I am joining the Monday Mischief blog hop brought to you by Alfie’s BlogSnoopy’s Dog BlogMy Brown Newfies. The Hop that wraps up the weekend.

That was the most entertaining story I’ve seen in a while. You are terrific at putting pix with story line and the hashtags are lol. Jax, you sure do clean up well, and the ties! What a businessman! Our baby’s growing up….
That looks like a great place Cathy. I wonder if Cole would get in the pool. His old joints could use some swimming but he’s nervous in deep water. LeeAnna at not afraid of color

    • Cathy Bennett
      June 30, 2015

Thank you so much LeeAnna. I love adding hashtags, so I’m happy they make you and many others laugh. Yes Jax is growing up. Olde Towne Pet Resort is a wonderful place, and many many dogs swim because of joint pain. Should you decide to try it – contact the one in Springfield 703-440-6521 and tell the front desk that “The Boys” sent you, and get a discount on your services 🙂
