It was – what seemed to start out as – an ordinary day. I wanted to do some housework but the boys wanted to play. Let me tell you – they were entertaining yet “persistent” with delivering that message to me all morning long. If they weren’t giving me funny faces…
Or redecorating my family room with dryer sheets…
They were teasing me with the “in or out” game…
I finally conceded, stopped what I was “attempting” to do all morning and decided to take them on a long walk. I asked Leo to quit with the dryer sheets…
Leo waited patiently for me to throw the ball…
Then he’d run like crazy and catch the ball…
And then stand there so proud, waiting for his applause (which naturally I gave)…
This went on for what seemed like hours and then I leashed them up for their walk. Before we could step off the curb, Leo heard someone other than his DM (Doodle Mom) call his name! As we turned around, we all saw the cutest little brown and tan furry thing running in our direction. I released their leashes and they met 3 year old “Leo”, a Lhasapoo-Apso Poodle who adopted the family next door…
Harley checked him out from head to tail..
While Leo sized him up as he jetted past with his ball…
Harley and “Lil’ Leo” seemed to have more in common with sniffing grass…
and exploring…
When “recess” was over, and “Lil’ Leo” had to go home, Harley was his escort, while Leo struggled with “who was calling who…”
We finished our walk, then ran a few errands, while they napped in the backseat…
It turned out to be a great day, they met a friend, and I learned that life goes on without finishing laundry…
