NEW NEIGHBORS

Grab a cup of coffee and meet a few of our new neighbors!

It’s been three weeks since we’ve moved downtown, and although I’ve been visiting this neighborhood for more than 45 years – living here has a novel feel to it. #feelsgood

Two blocks down on my right is –

THE CITADEL –

A landmark in Charleston and South Carolina – noted for its educational reputation and rich history. Established in 1842, it is one of six Senior Military Colleges in the United States.

Best known “nationally” for its Corps of Cadets, the Citadel draws students from more than 45 states an a dozen countries…

NEW NEIGHBORS

ROTC –

While the ROTC Departments offer commissioning opportunities in all branches of the armed services, unlike West Point, many graduate from the Citadel without a required service commitment.

My neighbor in front of me is the city’s –

JOHNSON HAGOOD STADIUM –

A 21,000 seat football stadium that’s conveniently across the street from the house…

NEW NEIGHBORS

Tennis courts directly across the street (arrow shows our rooftop) made Lee and his sister avid tennis players. Jaxson’s tennis ball bucket is filling up quickly. Most mornings we find a few on the front lawn.

Harley’s favorite bulldog stands watch down the street –

THE CITADEL MASCOT –

For more than 15 years the Citadel has used a bulldog for their mascot…

NEW NEIGHBORS

The Boys paid their respects for those mascots that have already crossed over the rainbow bridge at the beautiful memorial outside of the stadium entrance.…

NEW NEIGHBORS

Our backyard behind us is huge –

HAMPTON PARK –

a public park with 60 acres, for the Boys and I to explore and enjoy…

Two blocks from the house there’s always something going on and plenty of pets and pawrents to meet.

Professional photo shoot in the park coming soon…

NEW NEIGHBORS

It’s always a wonderful day in the neighborhood #mrrogers

Live your life and forget your age ❤️

I love reading about you and the boys. I really like the Goldendoodles but am unable to be a doodlemom because of physical problems. I have two cats who require little in the way of physical effort but warm my heart. I had a small dog but lost him two years ago. You boys are a joy to read about.

Hi Lynn – thanks so much for reading along. We love it. Feel free to take virtual ownership of the Boys and I’ll do all the work. It truly warms my heart to know that we’re putting smiles on so many faces by sharing our stories. Take care and keep reading because we’re gonna keep on writing…..

What a great ‘hood! The Citadel should seriously think about changing mascot breeds to ‘Doodles. Your guys would be ‘pawfect’ for that job.

You’ll never be bored living there! I think our Cricket – and many dogs – would be in heaven living across the street from tennis courts! 🙂

Jaxson is collecting so many balls he could give them away as Christmas presents. I think we’re going to make a Christmas tree for the Boys.

Any chance the boys are hoping the Citadel will change their mascot to a doodle? After all, 15 years isn’t such a long tradition in a city as old as Charleston.
