Allow me to test your childhood memory. How many remember this fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson?

The story is about a young woman whose royal identity was questioned by a prince and later established by a test of her physical sensitivity.
As the prince searched for a bride, a stranger appeared at the castle seeking shelter from a terrible storm. Claiming to be a princess, the uncertain mother of the prince placed a pea in the bed covered by 20 mattresses and 20 feather-beds.
In the morning she tells her hosts that she endured a sleepless night, kept awake by something hard in the bed. The prince rejoiced knowing he had finally found his bride.
As Jax climbed up this stack of beds – I couldn’t help but wonder – Is my dog a prince?
This is my attempt to be “less” wordy as we contribute to the BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop #aworkinprogress

Of course he is… all dogs are royalty! 🙂
July 29, 2015
I agree with that one Nichole – for sure!
July 29, 2015
He looks super comfy! I’m sure he wished you could take home the whole stack!
July 29, 2015
There are so many beds lying around this house, I could probably create my own stack for him. But Harley would throw a fit!

The Prince and the Pea!
July 29, 2015
That’s the PAWfect title!
July 29, 2015
So cute. It doesn’t look like a pea or a concrete block could bother him, What a sweet little doodle-face.
July 29, 2015
When the clock strikes 9:00pm, nothing bothers him. He could fall asleep on a window ledge!

Love it! One one hand, that’s my favourite fairy tale of all times, not as well known as others so I appreciate so much that you highlight it on your post.
As for the question… Yes. You really don’t need to ask! LOL!
Thank you Cathy, have a wonderful rest of the week!
Loving paws to all!

I agree with you Alessandra – one of the few fairy tales that seems to miss the top ten list of fables to highlight, but certainly a favorite of millions. Hugs to Pedro.

I have a nine year old so I’m all too familiar with that story. And I LOVE LOVE this picture. Not sure if it makes him a prince, but sure makes him adorable
July 29, 2015
I can remember reading this story to my daughter over and over again – it never looses its power to mesmerize both children and adults….
July 29, 2015
Haha, I’m actually thinking baron! 😉
July 29, 2015
I would vote for that one!
July 29, 2015
Oh my doodle!
He is such a cutie hiding in that stack of beds! I would definitely say he’s royalty for sure!
July 29, 2015
Thanks DZ – we think he’s pretty special too!
July 29, 2015
Such a funny boy, climbing a stack of beds!
July 29, 2015
Emma, he thought he had conquered the world!
July 29, 2015
Must be!
July 29, 2015
I think so to De
July 29, 2015
Yes, we believe he is! And of course, that means Harley is King! 🙂
PS…I didn’t notice the photo was taken in a store at first, and I was going to say that your dogs were quite spoiled with two piles of dog beds (not that we don’t have a lot of beds in our house….)…LOL!
July 29, 2015
LOL – we were at Orvis. I love that store, time to look for a bed for Jaxson.
July 29, 2015
Jax is definitely a prince. There is no bed test necessary to prove that. 🙂 He is a handsome knight in furry armor.
July 29, 2015
HA! Love that phrase Robin –
July 29, 2015
Well Charlie has super prince powers with pills hidden in food, so yes!
July 30, 2015
Oh that definitely qualifies Charlie!
July 29, 2015
Hehe. Cute! I’m pretty sure Rita is not a princess. She can sleep on top of all manner of uncomfortable things! (It’s hard to be less wordy, eh?) 🙂
July 30, 2015
If you ask me – Rita sounds like she truly epitomizes the term “princess” – only a princess could sleep on anything LOL Girl, trying to be less wordy is so hard, it’s killing me!
July 30, 2015
Awwwwwww, how sweet!!!! 🙂
July 30, 2015
Thanks Rama’s Mama (I always love saying that!) How have you been?
July 30, 2015
Haha…guess that should be a factor in my bed analysis!
July 30, 2015
You could try it but please take pictures as Jack and Maggie try the beds out LOL
July 30, 2015

July 30, 2015
Hahaha! What a great shot and comparison!
July 30, 2015
Thanks!
July 30, 2015
Ha! That’s a great shot. If it was my Jack Russell, she would be underneath the bed on the bottom with all the other beds stacked on top of her. She loves to burrow.
July 30, 2015
I love how each dog has their own way of doing things – like sleeping. Too cute.
