I feel like I’m never satisfied! By mid January I’m fantasizing about July, the sun, tank tops and flip flops. Today, I’m dreaming of a “White Christmas” – go figure…

Temperatures in this region are relentless. For the past several days now we’ve been knocking previous temperature records out of the proverbial park! This is what’s become our “new normal”

Because of the constant rise in barometric pressure, our walks and outings take place in the early mornings and late afternoons. We travel with back packs, really cool portable water bowls, and DH’s primary mission is to “seek” and “secure” areas with plenty of shade…

This never ending heatwave has also inspired me to teach Leo a new command – “hot.” I want him to understand this word means no barking AND no temper tantrums when we choose/decide “not” to throw “Wilson”

…let’s just say, it’s a new command and we’re still working on it…

Even though we as pet parents do our doodle best to protect our furry four legged family members, they can still become ill from all this heat despite our efforts. It’s our job to know the signs…

Harley is a little under the weather today, a little tummy thing going on. Not really sure what the cause, but I’m sure the weather plays a significant role. I will keep him on house arrest,  give him plenty of liquids, and have him dine on a bland diet of boiled spaghetti noodles and ground chicken (neither of the two will eat rice). This should take care of what’s going on “behind the scenes” and tomorrow I’m sure he’ll be good as new!…

TRUE STORIES: While sitting at my desk writing this post, my pawputer “dinged” and I saw an email from Tammy, our anipal at The Uncommon Dog. She was reaching out to ask if I would share this infographic they’ve created on dog safety during these hot months. I thought pawfect timing!…

Hope you have a doodle*licious day unlike any other – thanks for reading, WOOF!

You know it’s hot when Leo won’t even play with “Wilson” He ran out the garage, used the lawn and ran back in, leaving “Wilson” to melt for himself in the driveway. I was shocked! We are supposed to receive some relief in another day or two, can’t wait. Paws Up! to Dakota! Take care.

Yes, heat can really be hard on our Doodles and we should all be aware of the dangers! The chart is a good reminder of things to help our babies! Thanks Cathy and I hope Harley feels better soon! I like the idea of the “hot” command! Your pictures are great!
