I’m a proud product of the late 50’s with an incredible childhood of the 60’s. #grateful
To me -Halloween was pure fun, a sugar rush, a highlight in a kid’s life like non other.
All month I’ve felt like a kid again as I increase my walks with the Boys and look at all the time, energy, detail and creativity taken with the Halloween decorations in my new neighborhood.
This years trick or treat festival is definitely going to be full of ghosts, goblins and Goldendoodles…
It dawned on me the other day that this is Jax’s first Halloween. It’s his first “Fall” ya’ll…
Harley’s used to posing with decorations, he’s done it all his life. This was last years outing while we were still in VA…
I guess we can call him a true veteran. Nothing really scares or fazes him…
Jax on the other hand, is a tad bit skittish #chickendoodle…
I was grateful to get this solo photo…
Seconds later a leaf blew behind him and he was out of there…
ON A SERIOUS NOTE…
Let us all be super vigilant with pet safety this Halloween…
ONE MORE THING…
If you haven’t already please hop over to last weeks blog post A PET WITH PAWS to enter! #youregonnaloveit
Don’t forget to do the hump day dance sometime today!#guaranteedtomakeyousmile

Golden doodles are MUCH less creepy than ghouls and goblins!

Tis true Earl, but they need to not be so jumpy….

You had us howling at ‘chicken-doodle’ the photos are great- what models your boys are!!

Thanks Kaitlin, I thought “chicken” was gentler than some other words that came to mind 🙂

Aw, Jax will learn how to stay relaxed around Halloween decorations from Harley :-)) Have a wonderful Halloween with your pack!
October 28, 2015
Let’s hope so. You do the same with your crew!

I’m really going to miss Halloween this year. I don’t think we’ll be seeing any trick-or-treaters on the boat.
At my old house, we had close to 600 kids come to our door. It was so busy we had to sit outside on the porch because there was no time to shut the door.
And Honey was always there to collect lovies from all the dog-loving kids.
But she can identify with Jax’s worries over the goofy decorations. It can be startling to see a big ole scarecrow in the middle of town or witches that blow in the breeze.
BTW, will the boys be wearing costumes?
October 28, 2015
Hey Pamela, start a new trend, throw up some orange ribbon on the boat! I think we will have a bunch of kids – just not sure. I want to take the Boys downtown Charleston on Saturday. I didn’t get too creative, thought I’d grab the ole “Thing ! & Thing 2” out of the closet. It’s new to Charleston LOL

Aw, it can be scary this time of the year for young dogs. Plus, Halloween decorations are a lot more realistic these days, aren’t they?
We brought one of those life-sized skeletons this year and Haley was pretty confused when we put him on the couch. She kept looking at his face and smelling him. Maybe it didn’t help that we put one of her toys in his hand, lol!
October 28, 2015
I saw those skeletons, they are awesome!!! BTW – did you capture the skeleton and Haley together with the toy? I’d love to see that one.

We can understand! Decorations kinda freak Ziva out too. 🙂
October 28, 2015
I just make sure we don’t do any “dusk” walks to prevent coming across lights, animated statues and God forbid sounds… He’s freak out for sure!
October 28, 2015
Nice decorations! Rita has gotten much braver with Halloween decorations. She used to bark and jump and freakout when we’d walk by the neighbors’ houses with decorations but she’s much better about just cruising by with no reaction now. But it’s still her least fave holiday! She hates when people come to the door, but we get hardly any T or T’ers anyway, so we just hide with the lights off!
October 28, 2015
Halloween will be a zoo here in the new “Doodleville” I’m getting more wine tomorrow! I’m still working on Jax’s door manners and let’s just say we’ve still got a long way to go… So when the doorbell starts ringing, the circus will begin LOL

Love the decorations and the photos!

I grew up in that exact same time frame. However, I grew up in the country with no neighbors and nowhere to trick or treat. I still remember my parents driving us off to the closest small town so we could experience the door to door quest!
November 1, 2015
We had a few parents driving this year too. Makes sense, if you don’t have neighbors, go find some!

Your Halloween decorations look great! One thing I miss about having a house is the ability to decorate for holidays. I hope that Jax enjoys his very first Halloween. Sounds like it will be a great one for all of you!

It was a lot of fun Robin, really enjoyed meeting all the neighbors too!
October 29, 2015
Look at all that amazing Halloween fun!!! Great decorations… and fabulous pics!

Thanks Nichole, the neighbors seem to really get into Halloween around here. All I had were three sad little felt pumpkins by my door. Guess I’ll have to step my game up next year!
