On Wednesday you read about my pending Valentine Surprise, knowing I would dish the doodle dirt today. So as I promised, let me tell you about a special valentine gift from my furvorite Doodle.
It all began when we arrived at Olde Towne Pet Resort. We were whisked away to the pool area, where Daniella was happily waiting for me…
Immediately my heart started beating faster than usual. You see, I truly love water. I absodoodletutley adore being in or around water. I believe this is partially why I eat, sleep and dream of moving to Charleston SC.
I read the book “The Secret” (positive thinking creating life changing results) so now every time I meet someone new – I put it out there:
“Hello, my name is Cathy. I have a Goldendoodle named Harley and I can’t wait to move to Charleston!” #sosad
During my entire childhood, a portion of our summers included the beach. As an adult with my own family, I was grateful the tradition continued. When we became pet parents – this beach obsession took on a whole new meaning. #extrafun
Both Harley & Leo joined in on my water addiction, giving “love for water” more real estate in my heart. The summer of 2014 would not include a beach vacation. And without my annual dose of sand beneath my feet and sun tanned shoulder blades, I’ve sort of felt a little like a fish out of water #punintended
I was excited with the thought of watching him swim.
Since Harley hadn’t been in a large body of water in well over a year – we zipped him into a vest (to be safe) and away he swam…
Silly me, he really didn’t need the vest, he was swimming like a Doodle! For a minute I thought I caught a glimpse of a grin on his face…
Now here’s my special valentine gift –
READY?
I was in a wet suit at the other end of the pool!
I know –
SHUT THE DOODLE DOOR!
It was beyond Doodletastic…
You should have seen him. He was swimming towards me, climbing up my back like we were contestants on America’s Got Talent.
Wait – I’ve got video footage…
Talk about a memorable experience. I’m STILL smiling 🙂 Imagine – I was able to swim with the Doodle. Top that Disneyworld!…
Before I close I must tell you this – I don’t know how in the Doodle French scientist Jacques Cousteau wore those wet suits for so many years. They fill up with water. #strangefeeling #mindlesstrivia…
A very special thank you to our furrends at OTPR for this incredible moment – one I will never forget. It was just the best!
And to all our furrends in Doodleville…
This is the pawfect weekend be kind to someone, try it – you might like it! Thanks for reading and please – share us with your friends.

Harley’s getting his swim practice in preparation for his move to the beach. Swim Harley Swim!
February 13, 2015
You got that right Dixie (I pray!) – I think he really missed swimming last summer more than I realized. I might have to reserve some more swim time this winter with Dani (not me!) to prepare him for this summer move (fingers crossed).

That made my Friday…WTG Harley! My Atticus just loves the water cannot wait until summer.
February 13, 2015
Oh April – so happy you enjoyed it 🙂 I had so much fun, it was the best!

This brought such joy to me this morning. The love on Harley’ s face was precious. Every time we go home, my Bailey can’t wait to go to Folly Beach. My girls have him spoiled to that. So glad we kept the house in the island, it is now our summer address.
February 13, 2015
Renee – Folly Beach is my favorite place in the Charleston area. My daughter is getting married at Folly this September, and I am too excited. It was so much fun, I missed our beach week last summer, can’t wait for this one. Happy Valentines Day –

Bravo!!! Well done Harley. Dash is a swimmer too. Not so much Lilly. I love the video of him swimming to you. What a guy–he loves his Doodle Mom! Happy Valentines Day!
February 13, 2015
Happy Valentines Day Deirdre – You must go swimming with Dash. It was truly a dream come true!
February 13, 2015
That is a great Valentine’s Day gift! The joy on your face is priceless. 🙂 Wrigley loves to get in our pool… He swims a few laps and then prefers to lounge in his “doodle boat” (a special raft just for him). So spoiled!
February 13, 2015
Oh Amanda, I don’t know what I would do if I had a pool, I’d probably be all shriveled up because I would stay in there all the doodle time! I had a blast, it was so much fun. I am so grateful to OTPR for making this happen.
February 13, 2015
How cool in the pool! Love it. What a special time for both of you!

A doodle in the pool is so cool Emma, we loved it!
February 13, 2015
That is just so awesome! It was hard to tell who was having more fun….you or Harley. I love how he wanted to just climb on top of you….so cute! Oh, I wish there was somewhere around here I could swim with my dogs. Happy Valentine’s Day!
February 13, 2015
JanK – I think it was me! Harley was a little tired by the time I got in my wet-suit. He had already been swimming before then. I loved it, it was so much fun.
February 13, 2015
That is such a precious video. I was actually grinning so hard while watching this. I’m so glad you were able to film this moment. I tried the beach with Ziggy (Atlantic Beach in North Carolina), but he wasn’t having ANY of it. He ran from the water & hid hisself in a corner under our umbrella lol. Happy Valentines Day to you, Harley & Doodle Dad.
February 14, 2015
Oh my Doodle Claudette, Ziggy doesn’t like the water? I can see him hiding behind the umbrella too! PAWhaps in time, he will become a little more curious and captivated with the water. He’s still a baby, so give it time. Happy Valentines to you, Pope and Ziggy.

February 15, 2015
Francine! I loved it!!!! Harley was tired by the time I got in that uncomfortable wet suit, that’s why he was climbing up my back LOL but it was great fun. A memorable moment for sure!
