ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? –

We are!

Halloween’s over and temperatures are dropping. Leaves are falling and the people from ESPN have already moved into my house…

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

Many football terms are foreign to me. And that’s pathetic since I’ve been watching the game for decades with Doodle Dad.

Before years end I intend to learn all the football lingo I can. My Boys have agreed to help me be that sports wife who can “walk the talk” all the way to Super Bowl Sunday. #keepinghopealive

Harley & Jaxson supplied the visual aids (to increase my knowledge in this sport) while I continue to surf the internet and youtube. #itsworking

If anyone else struggles on Sunday afternoons and Monday nights from August through February…

These coaching photos are for you!

Oh, my goodness… how cute is this!? Thank you for spreading some love this morning (and for teaching me some football terms with your adorable furballs!).

LOVE the quote at the end, too. Thanks for sharing!

Looks like you have the lingo down pat. Now it’s time to enjoy the game with both 2 and 4 legged boys.

I think they have the tackle part down really well!

This was indeed helpful, boys 🙂 I can watch football, and basically understand it, but there are still some terms that I’m clueless about!

Clueless was my middle name Ann, the Boys helped me out too!

I am not a football person at all but I do think this is a very clever post! Love it!

It looks like these two have football down! I don’t know a lot about football, but I like their version. So cute! I’m glad they are having some fun. 🙂

Oh Robin, those two have fun everyday – rain or shine!

They love all sports it seems Robin, I was the one who needed some lessons in lingo and they helped a great deal. Even after writing this post, I still find myself scratching my head – guess it’s gonna take a while!

This gave me such a smile! I coached cheerleaders for over 15 years and made all of them learn the rules and terms of football and basketball. I always said, “You can’t cheer for what you don’t understand.” I LOVE football and am always the crazy lady on the sidelines or in the stands. For me, it is college football and high school basketball. Thanks for the giggles and grins. ♥

MK my friend, I too love football. I understand it, but I wanted a deeper understanding. While I researched, I realized I might not be the only “babe” out there with the same struggles. Glad we made you smile!

The boys play hard just exactly like your two boys. 🙂

Perhaps when you’ve understood the rules of football, you can hold a seminar to help educate the rest of us? Lol #clueless

Hey Lindsay – that WAS your seminar. That’s about as deep as it’s going to get LOL I needed the visual aids myself also! How are you my friend?

I’ve never been into football – partly because I just can’t seem to take the time to understand it. My hubby only watches a little bit and he still knows way more about it than I do. The worst part is I come from a football loving family.
I totally enjoyed your boys demonstrating the game though!

I like most sports – but I can’t watch baseball on television, too slow. I enjoy football, but I needed to know more about it – hence the blog post. It was as much for my benefits as our readers! I’m learning to apply what I’ve learned through the research to good use this season.

Great photos, Cathy! When I was married, I used to watch football with my then husband. I was a San Francisco 49er’s fan when Joe Montana and Jerry Rice used to play (ok, am I dating myself?). I loved watching those two work their magic. I never learned all of the lingo that you are learning, but I had fun making, and eating, yummy snacks to enjoy while watching the game. It was always a good time. Just having an excuse to eat great food and relax for a while makes it worth it to watch football with the hubby.

Rachele – I too was a 49er’s fan – Loved me some Jerry Rice too! I just wanted to know more technical terminology. Even for me the Boys visual aids helped me out too!

My goodness, but they’re powerful little doodles! Such extension in those legs when they’re running! They put my lazy crew to shame.

Cathy, you are so creative and your posts always make me smile. Harley and Jax have all the moves, except TIMEOUT, haha!

Thanks Elaine – timeout is so not part of their “Doodle-Vocabulary” LOL especially Jaxson. Happy to know we make you smile – we’re huge fans of chasing dog tales too!

Cathy, you and I are so much alike it’s frightening. I’ve been faking it for so many years I was starting to feel guilty! That’s how the research started. I needed a refresher’s course myself. LOL Now we’re BOTH ready for football…

I’m wondering if you had Doodle Dad check your definitions here for accuracy? Or if you just went with what your Doodle Boys said? (#*&$!)

Who knows, you might just be inventing a whole new sport…..Doodleball!

I LOVE this post and that you were able to get Harley and Jaxson to demonstrate the moves. (Or are they called plays?)
