HARLEY AND LEO MEET PETER RABBIT

Even though Easter Sunday is behind us, with an invitation from the LEESBURG CANINE COUNTRY CLUB (through Northern Virginia Pet Events) we took The Boys for a picturesque ride to Purcellville, VA to meet Peter Rabbit at EASTER’S GONE TO THE DOGS 2013!

This was the groups first attempt at an Easter Egg Hunt for pups, and I will tell you they (along with Philomont Community Center) did a “paw-some” job!…

The weather was “paw-fect”, and all the pups were on their doggone best behavior…

Tiffany (Doodle Daughter) surprised The Boys and met us there…

Why DH placed Harley in front of this sign, I’ll never know…

Once everyone arrived, the hunt for eggs was on…

According to the rules, once your pup sniffed, bit, or touched an egg – it was theirs! Leo was no help, since he doodle-sat “Wilson”

That left Harley to do all the heavy lifting alone. He and DD found one, do you hear me – one egg…
DSCN4940
There were probably more eggs to be found…

But not by us…

Just the same, we were all enjoying this new super pet fun experience…

After the hunt, there was plenty of time to make new friends. “Zulu” was tiny but mighty, and not afraid of anything…

And “Cutie?” this was an adorable dancing machine…

PRIZES? Who knew! Words cannot begin to describe the “doodle in the headlight” look the three of us had when they called Harley’s name. And for what you might ask. Remember that one lonely little purple egg he snagged during the hunt?

Well as it turns out there was a “category” for the pup with only one egg. Sad you say?, perhaps, but we had no shame in our game, we marched right up there and claimed our winnings…

Even though Leo didn’t hunt for an egg, he did manage to win a toy for first place in the “biggest dog” category…

Peter hung around on the bench for “pup-aratzi” pics…

So naturally we got in line…

Even though I am a beginner interpreting doodle language! I’m getting pretty “doodle good” at recognizing when it’s time to “doodle-dash” from an event. In the middle of the photo shoot – simultaneously –  Leo walked away and Harley decided to take a nap on Peter’s leg. I looked at DH and DD and said “that’s a wrap” realizing they were done with fun for one morning and back to the car we strolled…

What a “paw-tastic” couple of hours, and another “Groovy Saturday” with The Boys!

Thanks, as always, for reading. Hope this keeps you smiling –

Harley & Leo, just let me know your next outing and we/ Samanthia-Rae might just surprise you with a visit. Especially since you guys don’t miss a beat on any occasion. Yeah, we got the hint, it was the person holding Harley’s leash that held him up from finding more eggs….

We certainly will. Doodle Mom is getting better with keeping our calendar up to date with all our events. You might be right about the eggs, but Harley ain’t telling – so we might never know. Leo!
