When it comes to baseball games I can take em or leave em. But Tuesday night Harley had a job to do – so we went…
It was “dog days” at a home game for our Charleston minor league team and the MUSC Children’s Hospital Pet Therapy Group came out in full force to promote the program…
As people strolled the stadium interior searching for food, beverages and their seats, we were there to share information about how emotionally powerful and uplifting a canine visit in a hospital can be.

Outfitted in our “special event” red polo shirts – we spoke to any and everybody who stopped by…
It took my breath away to see our article from Low Country Paws included in the display trifold #verycool…
NEVER BEFORE –
– had I brought my Doods to a baseball game. We had dozens of opportunities to go while living in Northern Virginia.
At the beginning of every season I’d “think about” taking them but successfully found an excuse not to purchase a ticket.
I had no idea what I was missing.
Like Vivian said to the shop assistant in the movie Pretty Woman –
Big mistake. Big. Huge.
This was the last game of the season to bring your dogs. And let me tell you – four legged attendance was impressive #rainingdogs…
JAXSON’S FIRST BASEBALL GAME –
– was made possible because of the one and only “Doodle Dad!” #andthecrowdcheers
Let me tell you how wonderful my husband is when it comes to the Boys! #whatamanwhatamightygoodman…
This was Harley’s night to work the crowd with his fellow Hairy Heroes. Lee volunteered to come along so Jaxson could have a little night-time fun vs. staying at home. #doodledadrocks
This made Al Hoffman (Director of the Pet Therapy program) smile because he finally met Jaxson who he’s heard so much about…
After the first pitch was thrown it was time to shut down the booth and find our seats.
Jaxson desperately wanted to get inside the moon bounce. Even though the attendant looked as if she didn’t care, I feared before long we would be writing a check for a puncture hole in the floor. #nothankyou
Instead he settled for a photo-op in front of the moon bounce with Dee-Jay Cass of Magic 107.3 FM radio…
This particular evening game fell on the first day of school. This could explain the pockets of empty seats scattered throughout the stadium.
For a fleeting moment the thought of sitting down by the field crossed my demented Doodle-Mom mind. But one look at this dog, (paws on the wall) made me imagine Jaxson running across the field after the ball #doodlehurdle…
Which is why we chose to hang out in our own separate section #farfaraway…
I don’t think he cared where we sat. He was happy and he loved his view.
Watched most of the game well into the night…
TOTAL COST? –
- Entrance into the game – $8.00
- 2 hot dogs and 2 sodas – $13.50
- 1 Doodlelicious scoop of vanilla ice cream with an extra cup – $3.00
- Spending a night out with the Boys…
“Friday” is my second favorite F word – “Friend” would be my first!

What a fun outing! Mom wanted to take Bailie to a St. Paul Saints game this year, but there is only one and it was on a night she couldn’t go. Looks like a super fun time for you all!

It was a fun outing. They had about 3 or 4 of them here in Charleston this year. I am so sorry I missed them. I now know better – next season we will try to go more often. It’s a super relaxed family outing, and the Boys loved being with us #naturally

How cool is that!! We never attended an event like that

It was pretty “cool” my two favorite French Bulldogs. You would have really liked it. Do you have a baseball team in your town?
August 26, 2016
Fun! I live across the street from a minor league field but rarely go over there. Your new little friend there is cute, Harley.

You should take Shiner Ann (if they offer a dogs day) – could become a favorite new pastime for Pawsitively Pets!

That looks amazing! I love those photos of the doodles watching that ball fly. It must have been mind-blowing for them to see the action. And the crowds! What fun for dogs (like yours) that love people. I hope you go back!

Jean – I can honestly say going to the baseball games will be something we do each and every season. It’s inexpensive, and a great deal of fun for all!
August 26, 2016
Hee hee, yes, I would not want my Cricket anywhere near that field with balls flying either! It looks like you all had a wonderful time, and what a perfect family outing – I’m glad everyone got to go (DoodleDad is the best!).
August 27, 2016
It was a really enjoyable evening JanK. And it’s something the entire family can do together! Those are always the best outings. Even when I’m out doing “human” stuff – I can’t help but feel bad about leaving them behind. I just love hanging out with “my Boys.” so now during baseball season – we can add the Charleston RiverDogs to our list of “activities.”

That looks like so much fun. I wish I could take my dogs to places like this; it’s a bit overwhelming. Scout would do great, but not the rest. Thank heavens for CBD oil and Ewegurt. I’ve started using them both (not together) to help Zoey who can better handle the crowds now.
I love seeing what you’re doing in your Community.
August 27, 2016
Have you ever thought to grab Scout and take her on a little out-door adventure? She would probably love it! #tryit We love getting out and sharing some of that #doodlelove all the time. Occasionally I take a break because it can be a bit much for me LOL – Harley & Jaxson could do it everyday 🙂
August 28, 2016
Awww, such a good boy, Harley! Well done with all the kiddos.
August 28, 2016
He did a great job Monika! He’s a real kid – heart throb!
August 28, 2016
So cute!! What a great night at the ballpark.
August 28, 2016
It was a great night at the park! Can’t wait till when we can walk over there 🙂
August 28, 2016
Looks like a great night out! Love finding events that the boys can attend.
August 28, 2016
It was, and I do too! The local paper has a column everyday with “things to do” for that particular day. And they even list/add when the event includes dogs! #loveit
