BAD HAIR DAYS | SEPIA SATURDAY

Harley does not like to get wet. He can not deal with bad hair days…

Personally, I think he looks PAWdorable

Personally, I think he looks PAWdorable

As a puppy, it was a battle to potty train him in the rain. He preferred to wait until the weather cleared up or he couldn’t “hold-it” any longer. Even with his cute little yellow raincoat on, he had no interest in going out in any sort of precipitation…

"Nope, not going out there"

“Nope, not going out there”

Goldendoodles come in an array of colors, sizes, and also hair types. Some resemble the curliness of the poodle with the weight and density of the golden retriever fur. Some (like Leo) are long and straight, and then there are those with that tight round curl, the kind that I love to uncurl – let go – then watch it snap back into place!

Harley’s hair feels exactly as it looks – pillowy soft. I like to describe it as: “cotton comes to life!”

He loves to get brushed “every” morning after we’ve finished our walk. Perhaps he’s grown accustomed to this because it’s what I’ve done all his life. Since he was nine weeks old, I’ve brushed him every morning, with only a handful of exceptions.

I now believe this doodle has come to appreciate it! He such a poser when he’s clean and brushed. It’s like he knows he’s “strut your stuff” ready…

He even poses after his “spa” day at Olde Towne Pet Resort . So much so, I can expect photos sent via text message on occasion from the staff…

According to Fernando (his groomer), Harley is a “great” with his baths. I can only imagine what goes on when he’s there. Whatever it is, I know this much, immediately after dinner – he’s gone…

It's a "wrap"

It’s a “wrap”

Before I end this post I’ve gotta tell you, the other day we came close to a repeat of Harley’s July PetBox review, but I saved what could have pawtentionally been pawful #tosaytheleast.

Come back on Monday to enjoy a little Doodle Monday Mischief with Harley’s August PetBox review…

Thanks Rachele, it would really help if he kept the hoodie on, but that’s not happening! Thanks for reading, please come back and visit again soon.

Actually, his fur reminds me of bichon frise fur! Both of your doodles are just GORGEOUS! I am quite interested in doodles actually. I actually debated getting one, but then ended up rescuing a bichon in need! Can you tell me how much yours weigh? How often do you have them groomed? I am adding you to my blog roll. I love your blog!! Thank you so much for finding me through the blog hop! xo Jeanne, Chloe and LadyBug

I think the fur is really similar also. Loads of people mistake Harley for a HUGE bichon, we get asked that question very often. Harley weighs 54 lbs and Leo weighed 98 lbs. Harley is groomed every 5-6 weeks, but he’s bathed every Friday! He may look clean all the time on the blog, but trust me – he’s all boy when it comes to outside! Thank you for adding me to your blog roll. I will add yours as well. Since Leo’s passing, I’ve been contemplating on making a few changes to the website this fall. I believe (slowly) that a few tweaks here and there will help with the healing process. I have some ideas for blog rolls and my blogging FURRends, and you are definitely on my list 🙂 Take care and let’s keep in touch, after all, Bichons and Doodles are cousins right? 🙂

Thanks Caren, he doesn’t care for the hoodie, so the head is what gets so messed up!

I just realized I’ve never pet a Doodle, and now I feel like I’m missing out. The fur looks so soft. I love the coat, it’s so cute.

Well Jen, if you were close I’d tell you to come on over to Doodleville and rub away 🙂 Harley is extremely soft. People love to rub on him, and he loves to be rubbed.
