YES TO THE GOLDENDOODLE

CONGRATULATIONS! –

Choosing to bring a Goldendoodle into your home is a pawsome idea…

JAX

Whether you adopt, rescue, or purchase. That’s an individual decision.

But whichever direction leads you, please remember these A B C’s –

As with any dog, it’s important to learn as much ABOUT them as possible. Should you decide to work with a BREEDER – do your homework and research as much as possible.

There are a variety of COATS & COLORS  with the Goldendoodle. Educate yourself and become familiar before your final selection so you’re not disappointed later.

While the DEMEANOR of the Goldendoodle is what I call “magical” they are active bundles of fluff who have oodles of doodles of ENERGY. They demand attention, love activity, and do best when mentally stimulated.

Goldendoodles are promoted as non to low-shedding pets. Indoctrinate yourself about FUR, the hypoallergenic myth, dander and allergens.

Very few people are aware of the multiple GENERATIONS when it comes to breeding Goldendoodles. This tag can have tremendous impact on your Dood’s characteristics, get to know the variations.

HYBRID VIGOR is what started the crossbreed phenomena. Ask about specific genetic tests performed on both parents. While the INTELLIGENCE of the Goldendoodle is impressive, keep in mind – that super doodle brain must be challenged regularly to avoid it from getting into mischief.

They do JUMP, make no mistake about it. That and other personality traits will be revealed as you become more KNOWLEDGEABLE about the breed.

We all want our pets to live forever – knowing the LIFE EXPECTANCY of a Goldendoodle before bringing one home is beneficial.

As with anything, there are MYTHS circulating about Goldendoodles. Stick to the scientific findings! A good vet can help you with proper NUTRITION guidelines.

Since this crossbreed is relatively new, understanding its ORIGIN is pretty fascinating. I never knew the original PURPOSE for these dogs.

They come with a few QUIRKS which you will find comical and endearing. And as special as these creatures are, some families are unable to keep them, so they are available for RESCUE.

Did you know Goldendoodles vary in SIZE?

TETHER TRAINING works well and is known to increase your bond. Goldendoodles are rather UNIQUE because of the two purebred parents. Some can be rather VOCAL while others create their own sounds for communicating.

Just because they’re heritage derives from two WATER dogs, all Goldendoodles don’t have a strong “connection” to the water. If there was a list for the #1 XENODOCHIAL dog, I believe the Goldendoodle would most definitely top that list…

interesting that they don’t like water 🙂 maybe it depends on how much Goldens they have. We see lots of Cali poodles at the beach. Jaxson looks like a Golden puppy – sooo cute. Golden Woofs

They like water, some more than others! Harley enjoys it, Jaxson “adores” it.

This has been a great series, Cathy!! I, too, am looking forward to your Z challenge. While I doubt that I would have the energy any more to keep up with both Ducky AND a Doodle, they would probably get along great. For my own sake, Ducky’s next playmate will be a mellowed-out senior Golden like her current sister. ❤️
