THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

By Wednesday, April 1, 2015 42 Permalink

I remember a teacher once asked us to read  “The Road Not Taken” by the legendary poet Robert Frost. With great eloquence he described a traveler choosing between two paths to get through the woods.

In four short verses he wrote how these paths were basically the same. But at the end the traveler justified his choice by stating someday he would look back and believe the “one less traveled – made all the difference.”

Earlier this week Jax tried to get to the other side of the front lawn. His decision to choose the path he did made me think of this classic and famous poem. Could Jax have thought for a fleeting moment – the road not taken would make a difference? Was he trying not to be like everyone else?

HERE’S THE LAST VERSE:

I shall be telling this with a sigh

1

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

2

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –

3

I took the one less traveled by,

4

And that has made all the difference…

His final destination!

His final destination!

WHAT DO YOU THINK?…

Be careful out there today – it’s April Fools Day 🙂 and as always, thank you so very much for sharing me with all your friends!

That is actually a road frequently traveled at my house :). Sometimes it takes me by surprise and it’s not always a good surprise when you have large dogs LOL!

Such a thought provoking post on April Fool’s Day. I think if you’ve gone into the world of writing you have definitely taken the road less traveled. Whether or not it was the right road is yet to be seen.

True statement there Sharon. But like Frost and Jax, this road is so exciting no matter what – I’ll never have any regrets.
