WIGGLEBUTT WARRIORS know “how” to throw much more than just a pawty! Talk about an enchanting evening, excellently executed by the collaborative efforts of people dedicated and united towards the same goal – saving lives.
A “wigglebutt” I found out, is an affectionate term for a Cocker Spaniel’s happy wag. The Wigglebutt Warriors (a fundraising arm of FIDOSE OF REALITY) has currently aligned themselves with OBG COCKER RESCUE to help Cockers and dogs in need. Together they strive to make a difference in the the lives of homeless dogs.
“Oldies But Goodies” Cocker Rescue (est. in 1996) is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of cocker spaniels and mixes in the mid-Atlantic region (primarily DC, MD, and VA.)
Groovy Goldendoodles was thrilled to support and attend such a glitzy affair. Months ago Harley announced that he’d prefer to wear something other than a full tuxedo jacket. He felt keeping something like that on all evening would become heavy and rather hot especially when it came time for him to shake his “groove thing” on the dance floor!
He said he wanted to be able to strut his stuff in comfort. So after he consulted local designer “Star” of Star-Dantz Designs, he was thrilled with his “Chippendale Doodle” look of black and white satin cuffs with rhinestone cufflinks, to match his satin bow tie (MIBO COLLARS) and nothing more. He told me he was striving for that “less is more” look…
He was so excited when he hopped out of the Doodle Bus…
Harley pranced and posed before his grand entrance onto the red carpet…
The OLDE TOWNE PET RESORT was transformed into an impressively beautiful ballroom, complete with a merchandise table, photographers, videographers, and dozens of “swag bags”…
Undeniable glitz and glamour all over the place…
I will say, I was quite proud of “Harley-Darley” on the red carpet. He was the pawfect gentleman. He sat next to me like a pro (uninterested with George Clooney) and allowed the puparazzi to take as many photos of us as they wanted…
It was wonderful to see old furrends again…
…as well as finally meeting blogging furrend EMMY THE PET SITTER. It was such a delight to hear the voice and hug the person you’ve enjoyed communicating with via social media. I had such a good time with her, I love her spirit…
Harley also loved smooching it up with Dr. Katy Nelson from THE PET SHOW WITH DR. KATY NELSON…
Harley even “dug” the camera man. He seemed to enjoy video taping Harley, so I thought; “why not capture the two of them together?” I never did get his name, but camera man from 3 MOMENTS MEDIA – “this one’s for you!”…
Harley’s paws froze when his pupripheral vision caught a glimpse of Bella as she came down the hall…
He fell paws over tail in love “before” dinner was even served….
This moment of “puppy love” between Harley and Bella was short lived. It evaporated into thin air once we sat down at our beautifully decorated table, and his roving eyes paused on Rose and her gold ruffled gown…
It was great to reunite with furrends Robbin and Joe Everett from TPPC.tv. They were genuinely saddened to hear about Leo, and their warm hugs were just what I needed as I found myself struggling with a few nostalgic moments of my own. They are “two” of the best at bringing pet related entertainment to animal lovers since 2008…
So much to see…
It was nice to finally see Luna and her per parent Jessica of BEAGLES AND BARGAINS, play with Mr. Tater Tot (who won the “Best Dressed Male Dog” award) and watch Harley flirt with a cute little girl at the next table…
Harley’s heart skipped a beat (again) as he watched Bella posing for puparazzi after winning the “Best Dressed Female Dog” award…
Harley had a wonderful time – we both did. As we were leaving the building, grabbing our swag bags and saying our goodbyes, I noticed homeboy had partied so much, he was wearing his bow tie backward #newfashionstatement …
Sunday morning he was moving slow – not his usual self. After his morning walk, he jumped in our bed and spent the rest of the morning dreaming about – you guessed it “Saturday Night Live!”…
Doodle props to Carol, Darlene, sponsors and all those who worked tirelessly for such a worthy cause. Thank you for a memorable evening 🙂
Thanks for reading, I hope we “shared” enough about our night that you felt like you were there! #wetried

Awh, thanks Caren, I wanted to make sure I remembered to “dish” it all for you 🙂 Carol and Darlene and the rest of the committee did an excellent job with everything. They should be extremely pleased with the results of their efforts.

Wow, that was an event! Too bad they let a cat in, I’m always trying to get rid of my cats, but at least it was contained. You looked pawsitively pawsome in your outfit, Harley! Glad you had a great time!
September 22, 2014
Emma, we stayed clear across the crowded room from the cat. I didn’t want Harley to make a scene. He did pretty good when I took the picture. The cat lady is really cool, I think you’d like her a lot.

It was a nice affair – I really want to try and “get out more” it was tough w/o Leo – but Harley and I are accepting (or at least working hard) our new normal. It’s nice to spend time with people who “get you” and the pet blogging / pet loving community can be so warm and welcoming. So let’s plan to meet one day soon, you and me. 🙂
