WHOSE IN CHARGE?

OMD, I’m not the boss! I no longer call the shots! I’ve been replaced…

I had great intentions for Saturday morning – well at least I thought I did.  I’d suggested a month ago that we go to the WAGS N’ WHISKERS pet exhibit. I love carefree – laid back – outdoor “pet friendly” activities – and this one had several vendors I wanted to visit (including our friends at OTPR), but these plans were not to be.

The sequence for the change of events started the night before. Leo paced around a lot Friday evening, just couldn’t seem to get settled. By early morning, I realized on our walk that he had an upset tummy. When we returned, he had no appetite, and just laid around the house…

Now this is not typical for Leo! He is generally 92 lbs of combustible energy the entire day. Saturday he seemed uncomfortable and unhappy, so I gave him something for his stomach and decided to wait and watch.

Harley was also having a slow morning, just dragging around the house. After breakfast (he ate his food), he took a snooze on the rug and when I tried to wake him up, he gave me this look like he had really “tied one on” at the local pub the night before…

What was happening to my boys? By mid-morning they had permanently perched themselves on the top of the landing with no desire to move…

I talked it over with my DH Lee and we decided to take care of our personal “to-do” list first and then perhaps take them to the outdoor event in the afternoon vs. the original morning proposal.

Well perhaps it just wasn’t meant to be. Before we could finish our errands, the weather went wet…

This is when I quit trying to be in charge. It was obvious for whatever reason we just weren’t supposed to be there or anywhere else other than home! So we took it easy the rest of the day. I pulled out a toy our friends at Olde Towne Pet Resort asked us to “test” for durability, because everyone knows Leo is the reigning CHAMP of toy destruction! So far though, the toy is holding its own…

By early evening, Harley was well rested, Leo was feeling better, and all my laundry was done! Let the wrestling begin…
