WALK FOR A DOG

“Have you heard of Walk For A Dog” my neighbor asked?

This was her question to me one morning not too long ago…

TTIt was obvious to her that I was clueless as I tilted my head like Lassie. #huh?

That’s when she told me about this new app by Wooftrax

yes

For the remainder of my walk I realized as much as I walk the Boys – this was a campaign I could step to. After all – #walkingiswhatIdo

Later that afternoon, I looked it up. Just as she described – little action required for a huge local cause.

IT’S SUPER EASY TO GET STARTED –

Download and set-up the app on your smartphone (Android and Apple app stores).

Here’s our home page…

WHAT IF YOU DON’T HAVE A DOG?-

Then Cassie (family pet of Doug Hexter – founding partner) is the pawfect virtual companion for you…

DOG

This is such an easy app to use, I find myself blabbing about it all the time.

I’m thinking the more who know  – the more they’ll grow…

The Boys and I are avid walkers…

Twice a day is our minimum. My biggest problem is remembering to grab my phone. I’m so accustomed to grabbing my camera #retrain

We are super excited to be supporting the Doc Williams SPCA Shelter. You can learn more about this dedicated group through an earlier post GRATEFUL.

So if your phone accepts the app, give it try 🐾 let your steps make some money #cheddarbaby

Trust me when I tell you – walks now have so much more meaning not to mention we’re walking longer, getting healthier, making a difference…

I love it Lauren. This morning it was 37 degrees – and windy like the doodle. But we put in our 2 miles because we’re walking for a purpose now. We’re trying to help others. #feelsgood

That’s a fantastic idea!! I used a similar app for the longest time. The only reason why I stopped using it on a daily basis was that the app drained my phone battery really quickly. I’m a dog walker so I figured I could let it run all day long and record all of my walks with doggie clients as well (besides my personal ones with my own dogs).

I’ve only used it for a total of 4 miles so far, but I haven’t seen that much of a battery drain. None of real significance – but then it’s only been 4 miles LOL

It worked great when I used it to record the morning walks with my own pups 😉

That’s a great way to exercise and donate at the same time. Mom tries to remember her phone for emergencies, but sometimes forgets it too. Happy walking…looks like you are hands free too 🙂 I recognize those leashes.

Yes Emma, we are still super happy with our Umbilical leash. I’m addicted to it and the Boys have their rhythm down to a synced beat…..

We use this app a lot–I don’t always remember to turn it on before we go for a walk and sometimes there’s a glitch and it will end our walk before I’ve actually ended our walk, but I figure every little bit helps even if it’s not always accurate 🙂 Glad you’re using it now, too!

So far Beth it hasn’t shut down on me – I sometimes leave it on the kitchen counter. Probably because once I grab the leashes, Jaxson gets super hyper and I’m doing all I can to get my little maniac out of the house LOL. I’m trying to remember to turn it on and put it in my pocket BEFORE I grab the leash. I’m a creature of habit – so it’s taking me a while to switch gears. Have a great weekend.

I love this app! I like to track time and distance on our walks and this is a great way to do that while benefiting shelters as well! I do have to confess I sometimes forget to use it though….so thanks for the reminder. 🙂
