DOGS ATTENTION SPAN

Have you ever thought about your dogs attention span?…

YOUR DOGS ATTENTION SPAN

Some experts say that its rather short, but Jaxson’s attention span can be extremely long when he wants it to be.

This doesn’t hold true though when I want to work on commands. #ainthappening He just doesn’t find me interesting I guess. But then I’m only a mere human.

Once he does become fixated on something, he’ll stick with it for lengthy periods of time.

We’re experiencing major construction across the street. Big trucks, lot’s of humans in yellow hats and loud racket all day long.

He’s mesmerized by the constant activity. Watches like a foreman most of the afternoon.

Check him out…

ONE MORE THING –

Have you ever shopped at Trader Joe’s? I am in ❤️ with the one in Mount Pleasant, SC.

YOUR DOGS ATTENTION SPAN

PET FRIENDLY GROCERY STORE –

I purposely took the Boys home one afternoon because I wanted needed to do a little grocery shopping and I refuse to leave them in the car. #toodoodledangerous

Trader Joe’s is close to the house, and I love their stuff!

Have you ever tried their soaps?#freakingamazing

Imagine my elation when I saw this new sign located at the entrance…

YOUR DOGS ATTENTION SPAN

I cannot WAIT to go back. Talk about a super cool concept. I spoke to the manager and he said this wasn’t a “corporate wide” thing, it was up to each individual store.

SO –

Check out the Trader Joe’s in your area, and let me know if you see this sign.

When you are loved by a dog – you have so much to be thankful for ❤️

This is our “wordy” contribution in the BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Jaxson can be the same way unless it’s something he’s interested in, On the weekends he looks for the construction crews and because they’re not working, he rarely stays in the window. Too funny.

Ducky’s attention span is about five minutes when I have treats nearby. Luckily, she’s a smart girl and picks up on commands very quickly. And retains them somewhere in that hard little head of hers. Shadow is my sweet senior girl. I don’t ask much of her in the way of “obedience” these days, but she knows the impawtent stuff. And her attention span is whatever she wants it to be – at least in the house and back yard.

Jaxson is a unique creature for sure! He will stay with something if it’s something he’s interested in, without treats. For instance, he loves to learn commands, if I want to teach him something new, he will be a model student. When I want to use it – he’s giving me that deer in the headlight look. I am always amazed at how he can turn his brain on and off…. LOL

My poor baby doodle—11 months old and 68lbs of baby doodle–is having hot spots!! Our vet says it is probably allergies and I will soon schedule the allergy test to determine the cause of these awful spots. In the meanwhile, do you have any suggestions for healing or prevention?? They look so painful.
    Thanks for you input.

Hi Peggi – In the past when I’ve caught the hot spot in its early stages I would use coconut oil on the area and after a couple of days I could see improvement and Harley wouldn’t irritate the spot any longer. I have had to get a medicated ointment from the vet on occasion too. I don’t know of any other successful method of prevention until you find out through the allergy testing what seems to be causing the problem. Please keep us posted and give sweet Asher a hug from me.

So is it just a shaded place to tie up your dogs while you shop? It’s much safer than leaving them in the car, but I would be afraid they would be stolen.

There’s a store attendant with them, in the shade and the dogs don’t interact. It’s in a fenced in area. I haven’t used it yet, but I will take photos when I go again.

I love the idea of having an area for the dogs while you shop. I couldn’t leave my dogs behind (they aren’t socialized for that type of things) but if these things were more available, I would have made sure that my dogs were trained so they could enjoy this perk.

Wow, he’s really surpervising those workers!

I LOVE Trader Joe’s.They’re very popular here. Haven’t seen a doggy rest stop at the one I go to, but it hasn’t been that hot here by the beach … yet.

Ask your TJ’s next time you go, you could start a new trend in your neighborhood!

I love Trader Joes, too! Haven’t tried their soaps, but will definitely check them out. Pretty fun that they are offering a doggie dock!

My favorite soap (right now) is the Honey & Oatmeal. You get two decent size bars for $1.99 and it’s all natural. Love the way the bubbles wake my face up in the morning. Check it out!

We like their dog biscuits! No dogs here, though, at Trader Joes.

The Boys love the tiny little cracker size treats. They are always begging for more!

We wish we had a Trader Joe’s!

Cricket has a very long attention span. When she’s focused on something, she’s all in. Luke’s is just the opposite – very short!
And my two would be freaking out about all that activity, not just calmly watching it – good job, Jaxson!
