WELCOME TO THE DOODLE SPOT –
For several months now I’ve been boasting and bragging about how much Charleston loves dogs.
As I move in/out and around town, taking in the natural beauty of the various islands…
…I never tire of the friendly hospitality the Boys receive.
I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE THINKING –
I’m in love with the Palmetto State because my family lives here…
That – is a true statement.
HOWEVER –
Charleston is the only city we’ve ever lived in that affords us the ability to include the Boys in practically everything we choose to do. #andIlikethat
FOR INSTANCE –
We’re strolling through the downtown area when something catches my eye from a store window…
I can shop to my hearts content, and the Boys are welcome…
Out of town friends always want to see the city.
If we decide to take a detour to the beach, the Boys are welcome…
If the aroma of fresh cooked seafood lures us to a new restaurant – no problem!
As long as there’s an outdoor area (very common here) the Boys are welcome…
DON’T GET ME WRONG –
There are plenty of places where dogs are prohibited. But trust me – there are enough establishments who “welcome” dogs with a water bowl by the door and treats at the register!
I talked about Charleston’s four paws hospitality so much, after the March Madness tournament – Go Pet Friendly’s Amy Burkert brought her two dogs Ty & Buster down for a visit! #collarusflattered
When Charleston, South Carolina won the 2016 Best City for Pet Travelers tournament, we couldn’t wait to high-tail it up there and see what all the woofing was about. We’d heard about the stunning beaches, tranquil parks, mouth-watering eateries, and unique attractions that roll out the “pets welcome” mat, and Ty and Buster were positively drooling to get their paws in the top pet friendly destination of 2016! They were here for only a few days – but they managed to experience a “taste” of what I’ve been barking about.

REMEMBER –
Whenever you decide to visit the “Holy City” –
It is believed that Charleston came to be known as “The Holy City” due to the religious freedom that was found on the peninsula several hundred years ago. In the early days, the church steeples towering over the skyline, were an extremely useful landmark in guiding ship captains into Charleston, one of the most important ports on the eastern seaboard. – please let us know. Harley loves meeting new friends – both human & canine.
FYDI –
(for your doodle information) – he’s big on Southern greetings too!…

I’m not much of a city person, but I do like to visit them from time to time. Charleston is definitely at the top of my list for cities to visit now (I hope Blogpaws is paying attention, maybe – wouldn’t that be a cool place for the next conference!?). And it’s not just because you’re there. 🙂

I think Charleston is the PAWfect place for the conference. You’re not alone in your thinking. I don’t know who to talk to – hoping to get this discussion going in AZ.
