THREE DOGS PLAYING | MONDAY MISCHIEF

The computer pinged – and my FB tab started to blink. I had a DM from a Groovy Goldendoodle friend. She and her two doodles would be in our area during the holidays and wanted to get together. SAY WHAT! Three dogs playing while two Doodle Moms’ chat it up? That’s what I call Doodletastic!

1

Deirdre Cryor has two doodles…

2

We’ve been social media besties for quite sometime. She’s addicted to Harley’s antics and adventures, and I crack up at her zany FB photos and captions of her two doods…

3

I was so excited, and I couldn’t wait, but I needed a plan. December was shaping up to be cold, damp, and rainy. I for one love the crisp cold DRY winter days, but add a little wetness and I’m not really interested in staying out there for a long period of time.

They needed a fun place to meet, romp and play, and I knew the pawfect place. So after Christmas and before New Years, Harley, Dasher, Lilly, Deirdre and I met at OTPR!…

4

They are two super sweet doods fur-sure – Lilly is a Mama’s girl. She prefers to hang on tight to Deirdre…

5

And not too fond of venturing far – but a love bug just the same…

6

Dasher (Dash if you’re her furrend) on the other hand, had doodle blasts of fun with Harley…

7

They even invited Katy to join in on their doodle games…

8

Although Harley, Dash and Lilly were all fine together both indoors and out, letting dogs meet for the first time shouldn’t be taken lightly. It’s like a choreographed dance. There are steps one should learn and become familiar with “before” the dance. I read an interesting article called “the three second rule” and it speaks to “facilitating a proper greeting” when dogs have that initial meeting.

Harley is a little social butterfly – yet I still found this article a good read and beneficial as it educated me to understanding the signs to look for with other dogs.

Deirdre – Harley loves his gift. He plays with it daily as if he knows it carries special memories of the three of you…

10

And I will always cherish our time (although it was much too short) laughing and getting to know one another. I plan to frame our card and keep it in Doodleville so we can always look at it – smile – and remember our three dogs playing…

As always, thank you so very much for sharing me with all your friends!

Ann, Harley strutted and pranced all afternoon like he heard voices saying “Harley, you the man!” Yes, I think it is a koala. It’s one of those toys that holds an water bottle inside. Lot’s of noise, lot’s of fun!

I’m so jealous, Harley! These Doodles and their mom are friends of mine on fb and my blog too. They are so fun. How lucky you are to have met up with them! The three of you make up a real “Doodle Gang”.

I like that Emma, the “Doodle Gang.” It was oodles of doodles fun. I am so happy Deirdre contacted me in the summer and told me she was coming my way. Emma, if I ever get back to Woodbury MN to see family again I promise I’ll DM your mom so I can finally meet you, Bailey and your sister Katie.

Christine, it was so much fun. To finally meet them was a special gift indeed. Harley and Dasher hit it off right away. Would love to have a reason to ride through her neck of the woods one day.

I am so jealous. That looks like a great doodle meet up and a wonderful place to play.

We’ve been lucky to meet a few bloggers vacationing in the Finger Lakes. We find a parallel walk to be a good way for Honey to meet other dogs who might be uncertain about her.

BTW, seeing Dash and Lilly visiting with you reminded me that Honey’s puppy mentor was a golden doodle. He was an important part of teaching her to be the nice dog she is today. Here’s photographic proof: http://www.somethingwagging.com/playmate-of-the-year-or-best-socialized-dog-ever/

Don’t be jealous Pamela, remember we still have to plan our meeting once you set sail and I get to Charleston. Honey and Harley can romp while you and I hug and laugh it up too! I didn’t know about Honey and the golden doodle – I will have to check it out!

It looks like everyone had such a good time, and that you came up with the perfect place to meet too. You got some great photos! Seeing the two “golden” doodles makes me wonder…is Harley unusual for a goldendoodle with his white color? Most of the ones I’ve seen are golden (not that I’ve seen a lot!). I was just curious about that.

Jan, Harley is unusual – that’s for sure! BOL His father was a copper red poodle so go figure! Same thing happened with Leo, who came from a different breeder in a totally different state. Yes, meeting at the pet resort was perfect. The weather was pretty mild too.
