I haven’t been bitten
nor stung by a bee.
I’m actually not sad,
and I don’t feel so bad – but I do want to tell you about one of my favorite things.
In April of 2012 when my new Spindrift Max Walker Stretch Bungee Leash by Big Dog Boutique arrived, I had to write a blog post about it…
Look at this thing after more than 30 months of being used and abused two and three times a day, everyday (it’s my walking leash) in all types of weather. #likethemailman
It’s also survived more than a dozen washes…#amazing
I’m telling you this thing is in great shape.
Originally I was searching the internet for the correct collar to use on a long haired dog. Harley’s neck was matting from flat collars so I was on a mission.
When I saw the round nylon collars I started humming and singing (I do that a lot when I’m excited) because they were designed not to tangle, mat or cause hair loss like some of the flat collars do. But the collars were also paired up with a leash that came complete with an internal bungee cord. #lookoutnow
The leash recoils to nearly half it’s overall length preventing tangles AND by stretching – it helps prevent snapping or injuring his neck…
Add a traffic handle near the bottom for those times I need to keep him close along with a buckle on the handle if I ever needed one…
True to their word the rounded collars are really doing their thing, and the leash is simply in incredible shape. It’s even standing up to my 5 star dog walkers…
Who are back by the way – Marshall has been making up for lost time a little each day after school. Sometimes he and Harley play, and then sometimes they don’t…
They don’t seem to care what they do – as long as they do it together…

You’re welcome! I am truly amazed at how well it has held up over the years, so I wanted to share this for that exact reason. If anyone is looking for something reasonably priced and durable, this is worth the $$$.

That does look like a great leash. We’ll have to check it out! Also I wanted to let you know that we switched Wrigley over to a rolled leather collar a couple years ago at the recommendation of our groomer, and it works great with doodle fluff. No mats, and it looks handsome on him!

Interesting. I’m looking for a bungee leash for the sailboat that will give Honey some freedom of movement while taking up the slack when she’s resting. The last thing I need is to fall overboard after tripping on Honey’s leash.
I’ll check this out and see if it might work.
And I never thought about a collar causing mats. Honey gets mats behind her ears. I don’t know if it has to do with her collar or not. But I’ll give it a think.

Oh yes Pamela, my groomer was able to solve the collar matting mystery for me early on with Harley. Someone also told me about a rounded leather collar that’s good for long haired dogs too. I have been quite pleased with this one though. Yes, please look into a leash for Honey that will keep you “on board” at all times! Have a great weekend.

That’s a cool thing. I was wondering at first how to get a grip when the dog needs to be close with the elastic stuff, but that handle takes care of that issue. Thanks for sharing!

The traffic strap is great Emma, and it’s not that hard to get my hand in there when I need to either. We’ve definitely gotten our $$ worth on this item, Have a great weekend – we’re going to try the tunnel this afternoon “again”

That leash looks really cool!! My Mum especially loves leads that have a clip on the top like yours does, they’re not very common, but so useful!

Snoopy, the leash (and collar) is fabulous. I am just so amazed at how well it held up, I thought “I’ve got to share this in the event anybody needs a new leash.” The traffic grip is essential in the city too!
