KURGO WANDER HAMMOCK

Harley and Leo love to travel…

We must let all the neighbor kids know we're leaving...

We must let all the neighbor kids know we’re leaving…

If they could drive themselves where they wanted to go, believe me – they would…

Still my most embarrassing moment...

Still my most embarrassing moment…

Whether we’re “doodling” around town or running errands, it’s sometimes difficult to complete all my tasks because the two of them love to stretch out and “take over” the entire back area. They love to lounge and ride.

Even their "Auntie Vonne" will petition for them to come along...

Even their “Auntie Vonne” will petition for them to come along…

This leaves little or no room for groceries, dry cleaning, etc…

Then the KURGO STORE came into our lives!

They contacted me, said they enjoyed reading about the “Adventures of Harley & Leo” and asked if we’d like to work together. I’m familiar with some of their products, and impressed with their “hassle free lifetime warranty” – so I agreed, and they sent us a  WANDER HAMMOCK to try out.

As soon as it was on, Harley was in…

Never EVER late to the PAWty

He made himself “comfy” while he waited for his “partner in crime” to join him…

It truly is like a hammock, and I still have storage space on the floor...

The Hammock gave Leo ample room to stretch out…

Leo took the whole hammock lifestyle "literally"

It was extremely easy to install. Six attachment points and a diagram to follow – I successfully assembled all by myself (trust me, that’s saying something!)

Here are some specific details:

• Can be used as a hammock or remove the front attachments to create a seat cover

• Center zipper accommodates passengers (view image)

• Waterproof, washable and stain resistant

• Easy seat-belt and child latch access via Velcro openings (view image)

• Made of a 600d polyester with a PVC backing

• Designed to be used in vehicles with bench seats, not for bucket seats or stand-alone use

55 inches wide x 56 inches long, and made of a strong, waterproof 600 denier polyester fabric. Double-stitched seams reinforce overall strength and durability, preventing rips or tears from overzealous claws.

The attraction for DH was the fact that we were now “officially” preserving and protecting the back seat from muddy paws, outstretched claws, and the collection of crumbs from an occasional “on the go” snack.

Adjusting to the new “upright” style of backseat riding took practically no time …

I almost expected them to wave to people at the traffic stops!

Owners Kitter & Gordie Spater said they started this venture in 2003 with the goal of developing well designed, innovative pet products to make life easier for people like me 🙂 so that we could enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle together! And now, thanks to them – I’ve got plenty of room for my two doods and whatever else we need to pick up along the way…

Can't you see Leo snatching some produce from the back one day while I'm driving?

My car is such a filthy mess from the dogs, this might be a lifesaver if I can make it work – they are used to lying down in the back of an SUV.

Slim – I had the same concerns for the same reason, but they adjusted in no time. For long distance trips I still let them lie down in the back. Give it a shot and let me know how it works for you!

We have a thing like that for use in a regular car. It works pretty well to keep our fur and dirt from getting all over the car. As for the boys and driving, I have a license, you know. http://mygbgvlife.com/2013/02/04/i-got-it-i-got-it/ Maybe the boys should each get one so they can take the wheels for a spin on their own?

Oh Emma, believe me this has done wonders for the dirt and flying hair. Both Boys have their own licenses as well, but we’re having just a little bit of difficulty with the insurance aspect – HA!

Glad the Boys like the hammock 🙂

The hammocks are great (and the boys look lovely in theirs!) – we use one from time to time in our back seat, dogs thought it was amazing that they couldn’t fall down into the seat wells. And like you mention it’s wonderful at keeping the mess out of the cushions. I love how your DH made it “official” 🙂

Jen, I REALLY have an appreciation for it now. We took it out the other day, and now there’s “stuff” flying around again. Can’t wait to put it back in there, I’m really sold now! Harley likes the seat wells also, I think it rocks him back and forth when I’m driving.
