APPLE TURKEY TOPPING – #THEHONESTKITCHEN

By Monday, February 27, 2017 12 No tags Permalink

Friday I made an apple turkey topping for the Boys breakfast.

WHY? –

Because I got busted preparing my lunch for work!

Most mornings I try to pack lunch. I also try to take a piece of fruit either for my journey or when I arrive at work. This particular morning I decided to slice an apple and eat it on the road for “my” breakfast…

APPLE TURKEY TOPPING

Jaxson can hear the apple slicer from an upstairs bedroom #phedoodlenomenal

SOooooooo

As I started preparing their breakfast of –

  • The Honest Kitchen’s LOVE (beef dehydrated food)
  • Probiotic (goats milk)
  • Peanut butter or coconut oil
  • Superfood – Proper Toppers

The light came on #extrabright

I had extra apples!

Out came the food processor…

APPLE TURKEY TOPPING

Which instantly caught Harley’s attention…

APPLE TURKEY TOPPING

Like a canine sous chef I peeled and cored the apple –

  • I core it because the seeds are not healthy for their digestive system.
  • I peel the apple because Jaxson likes to eat the peel as I slice. #makeshimfeelspecial

APPLE TURKEY TOPPING

The food processor made a chunky applesauce. With a fork I lightly tossed it in with about a handful of The Honest Kitchen’s Proper Topper, then added it to the top of their food. It looked like a sweet and crunchy apple turkey topping…

DID THEY LIKE IT? –

Let’s just say, in dog circles I’m now known as “Super Duper Doodle Mom” #inmymind

They loved it.

WHAT ARE PROPER TOPPERS

APPLE TURKEY TOPPING

Proper Toppers are irresistible light and crispy superfood clusters. They’re uber delicious, while providing a boost of whole food, superfood nutrition. Proper Toppers are made with just 5 whole food ingredients, including cage free turkey, and can be used as a topper, complete meal, or a treat. Source: The Honest Kitchen

Harley and Jaxson both love fresh fruits and veggies. Adding those high in fiber, antioxidants, vitamins A, C and D with a superfood like Proper Toppers makes #supersense to me.

QUESTION –

Have you ever fed your dog cucumbers?

I read –

they’re a great snack for dogs that might be overweight and have little to no carbs, fats or oils and boost energy.

This week, go the extra mile – it’s never crowded ❤️

Awwe! The boys are my insta-friends when I bite into an apple. Them, oranges, lettuce, zucchini, cucumber they love it all! I call them my little vegetarians. They love crunchy stuff in particular so romaine lettuce is always a fan favorite.

    Hope you’re well my dear.

Never tried oranges Lindsay, but they don’t care for lettuce. Jaxson only likes to tear it up into little-er pieces and leave it all over the floor. Can’t wait to give them some cucumber slices. Hope all is well with you my friend XOXO

Katie would have loved that as she loved apples. None of us will eat apples unless they are really blended into something.

That sounds yummy – you are such a good Doodle Mom!!
Luke likes many fruits and vegetables, but I don’t think we’ve ever tried cucumber. Next time I have some we’ll find out!

I can’t wait to get to the farmers market this weekend and give Jaxson a slice. He loves all fruits and veggies. Let me know if Luke likes it.

With the addition of veggie & fruit loving Elsa, Sam is starting to eat them but he still prefers the sound of cheese wrapper over an apple slicer. I always get tickled though when he eats apples, bananas, blueberries and green beans, all favs of the Ninja. How cool is it your guys love that kind of stuff! Nice job, Doodle mom!
