TAIL WAGGING HOLIDAY HAPPINESS

What an experience! Wednesday before Thanksgiving Harley shared some tail wagging holiday happiness at the Charleston International Airport…

TAIL WAGGING HOLIDAY HAPPINESS

Will never forget this lady! Nancy – came to work on her day off to assist co-workers and meet all the dogs!

…and he wasn’t alone…

Twenty two pet therapy pups from the Medical University of South Carolina spread some joy over a twelve hour period working two hour shifts.

OUR OBJECTIVE? –

For Harley and 21 of his therapy fur friends to visit Charleston International Airport in hopes of making the passengers “day before Thanksgiving” travel a bit easier.

Pet Therapy dogs relieve stress, help people relax and make people smile, no matter who you are…

GROWN UPS –

AIRPORT PERSONNEL –

And of course

CHILDREN –

DID YOU KNOW? –

More than 50 airports across the nation allow therapy dogs or have their own therapy dog programs. Albany and San Francisco International airports each have therapy pigs while Denver International Airport has “Xeli” the therapy cat on its canine team.

Harley worked hard that morning. He, along with the other therapy dogs, had assignments in either ticketing, baggage claim, car rental or the information desk.

Harley seemed to favor the ticketing area…

The airport surprised us all with personalized airport badges for each one of the “stars” working that day…

We met thousands of people that day. People from all over the world. It was truly what I would call an unforgettable experience.

We must have walked 25 miles together up and down the corridor.

We did manage a break between flights…

…and we traveled with healthy snacks plus plenty of water…

Yes – that’s Harley’s face on his travel bag #spoiled…

BIRTHDAY WISHES –

Saturday, November 25th is Harley’s 9th birthday. It’s hard to comprehend. He is truly one of the BEST things that has ever happened to me. #singitgladysknight #lovemesomehim

Harley and I were both comatose that evening and the next day we were a bit sluggish. LOL So happy I had no real plans for Thanksgiving, just me, Doodle Dad, and the Doods! We ate a lot and watched great football. I smiled all day – thinking about the new friends we met at the airport.

Beth you sound like me when people ask me about Jaxson. I’m patiently waiting for him to mature too.

She will – it just takes more time with some than others. I’m still waiting for Jax to mature.

You are the FIRST one to send Birthday wishes. He barked back a “thank you” 🙂 It was a great day. We are still all smiling from such a wonderful experience.

Almost makes me want to take a plane trip. And I HATE flying!

Hope you’re enjoying a wonderful birthday with Harley. I’m sure both boys are getting spoiled rotten. Which is exactly as it should be.

What an awesome thing to do! I don’t travel a lot, because it stresses me out, but I know I would feel so much better with some canine therapy.
We hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that Harley enjoyed his birthday. We are sure it was a special day, even if it was quiet (which is our favorite kind of day!) ♥

Happy, Happy Birthday, Harley! I’m sorry I’m a day late with my wishes. I bet your mom made it a great day for you!
Thank you for all your hard work at the airport. As an older travel, I appreciate/love puppy snuggles, they are such a calming influence for my nerves. Doodles are the best!
    Happy Holidays!

First things first since we’re a day late here…*♪ღ♪Happy★Birthday, sweet boy! ♪ღ♪* Hope you
Therapy work is so gratifying. Not only do the passengers enjoy seeing the airport dogs, so do the folks who try to make their crabbish customers happy in this day and age of airline travel. Kudos to you both for being so pawsome!
