“Reunited and it feels so good!” Remember that song by Peaches and Herb?
The bridge/chorus to that song rang over and over in my mind as we pulled into the driveway Monday evening and I saw this…
Even though I boasted to all my friends before I left that I was ready to “escape” for a little while – I still struggled with the thought of leaving, (hence the separation anxiety). Never-the-less, I left and I really did have…
Good food always tastes better when you’re in great company…
A dose of “crazy” can be so beneficial for your health. That’s why I had to try my luck riding the Budweiser delivery bicycle…
Who watches the Food Network Channel?
John, Tiffany and I are OBSESSED with “Diners – Drive Ins & Dives” #loveit. Some nights I can sit up for hours watching Guy Fieri sample food from all over the country thinking “I would love to eat there!”
So imagine my surprise and absolute doodle-delight when on our way home, John took a detour and stopped at R&R Taqueria. It’s this “infinitesimal” Mexican spot that was highlighted on the show…
I was giddy with glee, because the food sounded amazing, AND I wanted to see this place because it’s attached to a gas station. Check it out…
You’ve got to be there to really appreciate the hallway like corridor, yet it’s clean, friendly and the food is Doodle*licious. The tacos are small but packed full of flavor. The meat is seasoned to perfection, the tortilla’s are hand made and the cilantro is super fresh. I ate three tacos (two steak and one chicken) #dontjudgeme. It was like heaven…
The Boys seemed to have had their own fun as well. Partly because I have poor organizational skills, and an amazing husband.
It’s public knowledge in our house that I’m an excellent candidate for a “proper calendar usage” seminar. Questions (usually much too late) like “was it this weekend?” are far more common around here then they should be.
SIDE NOTE: I’m still working on a solution – but if you’ve got suggestions on how to fix me, I’m all ears. #Iwillpay
Anyway, months ago Olde Towne Pet Resort invited us to walk with them in the DC CAPITAL PRIDE PARADE. Yikes – I had forgotten all about it…
They reached out to DH, and he agreed to transport the Boys and honor my commitment fiasco.
ANOTHER SIDE NOTE: I thought that was such a sweet gesture on his part. #hugefathersdayforyou
Going into the city with two dogs is not an easy task. Going into the city with two dogs during a parade is indescribable. He got there with no problem, but with all the street closures he was unable to link up with our group in time.
However, their trip was not in vain. It was a beautiful day, the weather was incredible, and he said the Boys made some furrends…
I’m not sure when – but they also found time to hang out at a baseball game while I was gone. Leo doesn’t seem to be watching the game, looks like he was watching “Wilson”…
All in all it turned out to be four days of recreation and relaxation for everyone! But if you want my honest opinion…
Thanks so much for keeping up with us, if you’re ever in the area and you can, stop by and grab one of those tacos. I’d love to know what you think. Have a good one and please keep coming back…

Love traveling with you too!! Glad you like the tacos too.
June 11, 2014
I did like the taco’s and I loved traveling with you too! 🙂
To the moon and back baby…

Hooray! we could hear the doodle cheers across the country!! We did notice that all of the furrends the BOYS met at the parade were GIRLS!!! Oh you flirty boys!!
June 11, 2014
Yes Dash – We all survived and the Boys do love the ladies 🙂
June 11, 2014
Glad you had a great time and that your friends and good food kept you from sobbing over the boys. 🙂
The tacos did look good. But when I go home to Baltimore, I have eyes for nothing but steamed crabs. You can get good Mexican food in lots of places. But no one knows crabs like Charm City.
June 11, 2014
Hummm, Charm City? That’s a new one for me Pamela, you must share. When we want crab cakes we stop off in Lithicum for the huge crabs at G&M – my favorite 🙂 Yes, it was really nice to get away and do different things, but like Dorothy says: “there’s no place like home”
June 11, 2014
Agree, going away is fun, but coming home is always the best. Looks like you had a great time though.
June 11, 2014
I did Slim, and the best part for me was coming home!
June 11, 2014
You better make sure Leo gets to watch some World Cup action, I think he is a soccer boy by nature! Glad everyone had a good time doing their own thing and you must have a one of a kind man as Mom can’t think of anyone that would take any of my sisters or me to a parade! Pawsome!
June 11, 2014
That’s a great idea Emma, and I’m gonna be sure to take a photo of him watching it “just for you!” 🙂
PS Tell your Mom that Doodle Dad is really very special, he’s a one of a kind man indeed…
June 13, 2014
After your old post made me brave and I was going to leave the pack for the day – when I got ready to announce my change of heart to J, he beat me to it. His dad was going with him. I quickly said “okay, have fun!!!” and hung out with our dogs all day. LOL
June 13, 2014
Okay Kimberly, the Boys and I are going to give you another chance – confess to J, and plan another outing 🙂 In the meantime, Harley and Leo will hang on to your certificate that they made for you until you complete your mission!! “Operation ——-” (you fill in the blanks).
