PET PARENT #EXTRAORDINAIRE

Of all the toys in all the land, this is the one Jax claims as “grand ”…

DSCN2500

He plays all day and into the night, to see him without it can be an odd sight!

It squeaks, it squawks – it can work your last nerve, when it turns up missing – it’s an answered prayer served.

I am not proud, I must confess, how I pretend to ignore his distress.

But then here he comes – the one who cares, that’s why I call him…

IMG_7730-(1)Tell me, do you have one of these living in your house? #inquiringminds

Oh yeah! Cathy I’m feeling you about that toy you just don’t want to find because it can work your last nerve sometimes

Ain’ it a pain in the butt Yvonne? So frustrating, I just try and ignore him after a while #notproud

That’s love and one awesome pet parent, especially to help retrieve the squeakiest toy in the house. On those occasions when I’m a little stressed out or tired and Haley grabs one of those noisy toys, I take my frustration out on the toy myself and squeak it loud for her, lol!

Hey, I’ve got to try that one Elaine. Thanks for the stress release tip!

I’m pretty sure that’s me at our house. I feed her, walk her, shop for her food.. And I’m the one who has to get down on hands and knees and root around under the couch and coffee table every her ball goes under there (seemingly pushed there on purpose!). But in the hubs defense, he has bad knees so no crawling around for him! And our sofa’s too heavy for you PPE’s technique!

Trust me, Jackie I was super surprised to see him do his Superman thing and lift the entire freaking couch. But when it comes to the boys there’s nothing he won’t do!

Our furniture is too low to the ground for stuff to go under, so it rarely happens. It would be an awesome feature to have in the house, though.

  • Earl Lover
    September 30, 2015

Yep… this is familiar in our household. Balls always getting lodged under the furniture after some pup pushed it under.

    • Cathy Bennett
      September 30, 2015

Sometimes I think he does it because he wants us to play with him. It’s a game they play – hide the toy and watch the human get it back LOL

    What a great dad!!!

Yes Melissa – that he is. He’s got the patience of ten humans when it comes to Jax. Trust me, we need it too!

Yep. Isis had a squeaky Milk Bone toy she adored. I tried hiding it once, and she gave me the most pathetic look. Where did it go? She had a whole toy box to choose from and I could see her looking for the Milk Bone. I finally gave in and pulled it out from where I was hiding it in the couch.

    • Cathy Bennett
      September 30, 2015

Yep Kari – we’re all suckers like that 🙂 I can even get sucked in and stop what I’m doing to “save the day” Lee is generally the one who gives in first LOL So I’m grateful to have him. So are the Boys!

I love when a dog has a favorite toy. Over the years I’ve had dogs who carried their favorite ball on walks.

    • Cathy Bennett
      September 30, 2015

I know what you mean Sharon – remember my stories about Leo and his favorite ball “Wilson?” I too love how they get so attached. It’s too cute

Yes, Doggie Daddy is constantly retrieving balls from under things. Pierre will sit and whine as if he has lost his best friend. I need to find one of those balls. It is Murphy’s favorite too. They must be very special.

Girlfriend, I just don’t have the patience. It’s as if Jax deliberately pushes it under furniture to watch us fetch it for him. God bless Lee or Jax would be in tons of trouble – HA! He’d be waiting all day #poorthing

That is so sweet of your husband! Those favorite toys are so important! I bet Jax was thrilled. My husband is pretty awesome with my kitties. He loves cats as much as I do. He even misses it when Manna doesn’t curl up to him at night.

You just gotta find the squeaky, no matter what. It’s nice when someone can lift the couch so you can look under it.

    Paws & Wags,
Mary (Mom’s resting today so I filling in) and I know what it’s like to loose a squeaky

      September 30, 2015

I’m finding out that the squeaky toys are the best and most homes with pets have a pet parent extraordinaire. That’s nice to know! 🙂

Scout has a few toys that he loves, but one toy he’s had since he was a puppy and we call it his Bubby. He gets to play with it before he goes to sleep. Mostly he just sits with it. So funny.

A-mazing how dogs gravitate to one or two items in their lives. I haven’t named the blue ball yet – guess I will have to soon.
