I am happy to report that we’ve finally moved into our new residence last week…
Since then I’ve been unpacking, trying to establish some sense of normalcy around here. I’m super anxious to make this house like home.
After all – home is where the heart is, right? #soIthought
I expected the sight of familiar furnishings to excite the Boys as much as it thrilled me. #lovemyownbed
Sorry to say – but this was not the case. They sniffed their beds and could have cared less when their elevated food and water bowls appeared.
It took me a while but eventually I realized they were looking for “their” things. They wanted their toys.
Sounds like an easy task, but this took hours. The box wasn’t marked and there were a bunch of boxes to go through…
They sat – patiently – as if they knew I was on a major toy search. They watched my every move.
I was hungry, hadn’t eaten, but for the boys I wouldn’t stop because you see – here in Doodleville…
I cut my toe, lost a fingernail, and my lower back is killing me #twoalleveplease
But it’s finally starting to feel like home! #success

We know all about moving. We just got our “important stuffs” Sugar was so happy to see all her toys 🙂 Happy Unpacking. Golden Woofs
October 14, 2015
Hooray Sugar – there’s nothing like having your favorite things around you is it? Enjoy your new home too!
October 14, 2015
You will find millions of my dogs’ possessions scattered over our floors!
October 14, 2015
Mine too! I’ve never been able to teach them to put their toys back – does Earl?
October 14, 2015
Congratulations. The thrill of a new home purchase is so exciting. Once you get it all ironed out and can Breathe I know you all will have a ton of happy days ahead. 🙂 take care of that back 🙂
October 14, 2015
Thanks Claudette – I’m trying to take it extra slow, no need to rush – now that the boys have their toys that is!
October 14, 2015
I love your new fireplace! Whenever I think of moving, I realize that packing 34 years of stuff would take almost another 20 years and I chicken out. I know that you are ready to have everything settled, but you have the important stuff like the dog toys out so all is well. ☺
October 14, 2015
It’s so exciting when you’re making a house a home. I love decorating and the challenge of making things work when maybe they aren’t perfect and finding a place for everything, including all the dog toys!
October 14, 2015
IT is a lot of fun Elaine. I like moving items to different rooms from where they were before. It gives me the false impression that I’ve purchased new accents to decorate LOL
October 14, 2015
Cathy,
Welcome to your new home and I’m glad the boys have there toys. Maybe this will allow you to do some unpacking without them underfoot. But please take your time and don’t rush yourself remember Rome wasn’t built in a day
October 14, 2015
It’s so hard to unpack without your help! You are fierce when it comes to getting a job done. I will try to remember to take my time. After all I am here forever #yea
October 14, 2015
Congrats on getting all moved in! Best wishes in your new home!
October 15, 2015
Thanks Taryn – we’re excited to finally live around family.
October 14, 2015
You are such a great doodle-mommy! Those boys have you wrapped around their paws. 🙂 I would do the same for my cats in a heart beat. Congrats on moving into your new home! I hope that it is as wonderful as you make it sound. 🙂
October 15, 2015
Thanks Robin, I too can see you doing the same thing for your two kitties. The house is fine, I’m just anxious to get rid of all the boxes and paper, but that will happen in due time. We’re having fun, and I’m learning to pace myself!
October 14, 2015
I hope they appreciate your efforts on their behalf! Hope the moving in process goes smoothly!
October 15, 2015
I think they did Jackie – they allowed me to take a nap later that afternoon, that was huge!
October 14, 2015
Congratulations on your new home. I completely understand how the dogs feel about having something familiar with them.
October 15, 2015
The toys seemed to bring it all together for them. I searched for the beds because they never looked comfy when they tried to take a nap, but that wasn’t what they were looking for. All is well here in Doodleville – finally!
October 14, 2015
you are a good doodle mom. 🙂
October 15, 2015
Thanks so much Bailey. You’ve got a doodle*tastic momma too!
October 15, 2015
Unpacking and settling in is a big task, but it is also a lot of fun. I’m sure the boys will love their new place.
October 15, 2015
Their already settling, I just wish they could unpack a few boxes. 🙂
October 15, 2015

Congrats on getting settled in- that’s a huge accomplishment!
October 15, 2015
Thanks Kaitlin – there’s still a whole lot to do, but we’re still smiling 🙂
October 15, 2015
Oh I feel your pain #LoveAleve . I moved again 9 months ago. Kilo loves his toys too and his crate and cushions. Plus his food bowls and treats LOL. Funny how they give such purpose to unpacking (maybe even slightly more than my human kids).
October 19, 2015
I am so grateful to the Alleve company right about now Talent Hounds. That along with my other buddy #BenGay, together we make quite the team!
October 16, 2015
Glad to hear that the “boys” are adjusting to their new home. Now, Mommie, you must slow down and take one day at a time!
October 19, 2015
You’ve got that right! I am really trying to understand the true meaning of the word “pace” I want it to be my new normal. PS: Good to hear from you!
October 16, 2015
Congratulations on being in your new home! If we end up moving, I will remember this and be sure to label every box carefully….especially the pet stuff ! LOL
Hope the unpacking and work are over soon so you can get settled in and enjoy.
October 19, 2015
I’ve decided to take a different approach Jan, I refuse to stress over any of it. I do what I can, and then I let it go for later. I’m liking my new normal.
October 17, 2015
congrats on your new home, enjoy your new journey
October 19, 2015
Thanks Joann – We’re settling in and loving every minute of it!
