Harley & Leo here, providing the Sepia Saturday blog post!
Last night, all by ourselves, we thought of a Doodletastic idea. Why not wish all “Pet Lovin Papa’s” a HAPPY FATHERS DAY today! …
Doodle Mom said we’ll be busy tomorrow (Sunday) celebrating with our Pops, so this way we wouldn’t forget all of you!
Sepia Saturday also gives us a great opportunity to introduce (through photo’s) one “cool Doodle dude”…
His name is Lee, but we call him the “Doodle Dad.” A soft spoken Army man with a deep, deep voice (James Earl Jones deep!) hails from our Mom’s favorite place in the entire country – Charleston, S.C. He promised her once his uniforms were in the attic, and they settled down – Mom could have a dog. I came first, and DD made sure they carted (pun intended) me everywhere…
I’m what you call a “puppy mill” rescue and as a result of that, I was very sick my first year. For months DM would mix my meds in yogurt and place it on a flat piece of aluminum foil while DD sat on the floor with me as I licked…
As I got older and became stronger he started taking me up the street to a neighborhood ice cream shoppe. We still go (when the weather is warm) to eat ice cream and meet people…
Maybe it’s all those years in the military that’s conditioned him to walk, cause he’s a walker. He will “walk the paws off of you.” But I still like going with him…
We love our Doodle Dad. He takes his time with us. He’s very patience with us. When we’re out playing ball, I get to spend as much time with “Wilson” as I want. He’s a much better ball thrower than DM is – fursure…
And did we mention that he’s also a dad to human children?…
Well there you have it – that’s our Pet Loving Papa!…
We’re joining Ruckus the Eskie for Sepia Saturday. Ruckus says: All are welcome to join. Please share your best sepia pics of pets, families, experiences, nature, etc…

That is a beautiful story and great pictures. “You can judge a man’s character by the way he treats animals.”
