Xenodochial – not a word stored in my vocabulary, nor one that I’ve EVER used in conversation #untilnow
But its definition is very familiar to my world – thanks to my Goldendoodles…
Xenodochial means –
Friendly to strangers
Need I say more?
If your searching for a dog that is –
- everybody’s friend
- devoted to their family
If you want a dog who is friendly towards –
- children
- other pets
- strangers
Then a Goldendoodle is for you!
FRIENDLY AND PROTECTIVE –
I feel the need to also say… I have no doubt they would protect me #beenthere
Any breed can become a protector when it comes to their owners and family. The Goldendoodle is no exception to this rule and has been known to show great protectiveness over its owner.
MY STORY –
I walk early on Sunday mornings so we can attend the early morning worship service. In the winter it’s still dark when I go. On one particular Sunday morning, a joker jogger was approaching me from behind, and I never heard him. For whatever reason he chose to remain on the sidewalk and when the dogs heard him, he was a little too close for my comfort. Startled, I jumped. I didn’t actually scream, but a strange sound did exit my mouth. The Boys were beside themselves. I saw teeth, and heard growls from them that were totally foreign to me. I’ve never been afraid to be out with the “ambassadors of friendly” after that. They will protect me if needed. #nodoubt
Outgoing, welcoming, pleasant and accepting of strangers. They are the poster pup for happy social dogs!
PetGuide said it best.
They are –
Fun-loving and playful. An active energetic athlete.

Ditto, on the protectiveness. Curtis cant even hug and kiss me in Ziggy’s presence without a very hard nose nudge, clearly instructing him to get Hands off his Momma. LOL And I too love that word. Now for me to figure out how to pronounce it LOL

The other day, Lee had a tough time getting into the bed! LOL I didn’t even try to pronounce the word, not even once! Have a great weekend 🙂
